AMC Has Plans to Turn The Walking Dead Into a Major Franchise

The Walking Dead is as difficult to put down as the walkers themselves. In fact, it seems to be spreading. Andrew Lincoln is exiting the original series, but that still isn’t the kill shot that will put this franchise down. And why should it? So many strong characters have emerged over the course of the series. Rick would never have made it this far without Michonne (Danai Gurira), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Maggie (Lauren Cohan) or Carol (Melissa McBride).

Listen to John Carpenter’s Revamped Halloween Theme

We caught the midnight screening of Halloween at the Toronto Film Festival and we loved it. Loved. It. Writer/director David Gordon Green and his co-writers Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley have delivered a delicious, terrifying coda to the practically mythical clash between Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney). The slasher flick is both a loving tribute to John Carpenter’s iconic original and a worthy follow-up.

The Navy may be as excited about the upcoming Top Gun remake as the fans.

“Much like the first film, these are going to be real jets and real U.S. Naval aviators flying in these scenes,” Naval Air Forces spokesman Commander Ronald Flanders told The Credits. “We’re excited about it.”

The movie is one of only two films currently supported by the Navy’s Hollywood office —  and the production underwent a lengthy approval process to obtain a production assistance agreement that outlines how the Navy will support the film,

We have already been raving about the impressively executed new Halloween, but the more we learn about it, the more amazing this project becomes. The David Gordon Green sequel to the 1978 original nails an incredible balancing act. This is the reboot that all reboots aspire to be. It manages to recall favorite moments from the original without being a remake, there’s a juicy new storyline here, and it will almost certainly find new fans who weren’t already introduced to the franchise.

TIFF 2018: The Tender Fragility of the Boy Erased Score

Boy Erased is a shattering portrayal of a family fractured by a challenge to their stringent religious beliefs. Based on the memoir by Garrard Conley, Lucas Hedges plays Jared, a young man from a religious family who begins to realize he is gay. Jared’s parents send him to a church-sanctioned conversion therapy camp where he struggles to find acceptance even within. Hedges’ performance is fragile and vulnerable, which makes many of the story’s events difficult to watch.
