Zachary Levi Predicts Battle With Dwayne Johnson in Shazam! 3
When Shazam! debuted this past April, it was evident that Warner Bros. had something sizzling with the lovable kid-turned-superhero story. David F. Sandberg’s film was a jolt (pun intended) of humor, heart, and excitement for Warner Bros. and their DCEU. The story centered on teenage foster kid Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel), whose transformation into the titular adult superhero delighted audiences and critics alike. Billy meets a mysterious wizard (Djimon Hounsou) who tells him all he needs to do is shout one word—SHAZAM!—to turn into the titular caped superhero (Zachary Levi).
Quentin Tarantino Discusses his Potential Star Trek Film
Quentin Tarantino has long said that his tenth film would be his last. That means his upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is his penultimate movie, and we’ll only have the auteur around for one final movie after that. That’s sort of depressing, is it not?
It’s wonderful to be able to set the terms of your own career in such a way, and Tarantino has had, objectively,
John Krasinski has Begun Filming A Quiet Place: Part II
It’s official—John Krasinski has started filming the sequel to his 2018 stunner A Quiet Place. There’s some good news for you folks who have somehow still not seen A Quiet Place—it’s currently streaming on Hulu. If you’re in that camp, you’ll want to stop reading now.
Krasinski did nearly everything for the original film. He was the co-writer/director/and co-star of that film. Now, however (super late spoiler alert),
The First The King’s Man Teaser Trailer Reveals Kingsman Prequel
We’ve got our first look at director Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman prequel, cleverly titled The King’s Man, which takes us back before the venerable British spy agency was up and running. It’s something of a surprise to get a peek at The King‘s Man considering how quietly Vaughn and his team have been working on the prequel to his bonkers two previous films, 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle and his 2014 breakout hit Kingsman: The Secret Service.
The Farewell’s Writer/Director Lulu Wang on her Breakout Film
Narrative feature The Farewell, from writer/director Lulu Wang, is based on her own experience with her family dealing with what is called a “good lie.” As is Chinese tradition, they decide to keep grandmother Nai Nai in the dark about her diagnosis of terminal cancer. A wedding is orchestrated as an excuse for the family to come and see her from all over the world. Central character Billi, played by Awkwafina, is the fictionalized version of Wang,
Is Lashana Lynch the Next 007?
Best to take this news with a grain of salt until it’s official, but wow, this would be terrifically exciting news if it turned out to be true. Over the weekend the Daily Mail reported that the next 007 will be Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch. We’re not going to reveal any of the spoilers the story details about Bond 25, but everyone on the internet has already been informed of this bombshell,
DiCaprio, Pitt, Robbie & Tarantino Talk Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
There has never, not once, been a Quentin Tarantino movie that had anything less than a stellar cast. Even his tightest, most claustrophobic films (The Hateful Eight took place almost entirely in a cabin) have had big, beautiful ensembles. When you think of a Tarantino cast, you often first think of Pulp Fiction, his 1994 game-changer that resurrected John Travolta’s career while also making huge stars of Samuel L.
Spider-Man: Far From Home—A Tale Told on Three Bridges
Peter Parker’s summertime journey through Europe in Spider-Man: Far From Home is an American teenager’s dream. His science class trip hits Venice, Prague, Austria, and London, with Peter (Tom Holland) making Spider-Man work detours to Berlin and the Netherlands. In reality, the majority of the production relied on locations in Italy and the Czech Republic, with sets built on a backlot in the UK’s Leavesden Studios providing a backdrop for the film’s stunts and visual effects.
Mackenzie Davis’s Terminator: Dark Fate Character Will Break You
One of the most intriguing films (that we know about—there’s plenty of secrets to be revealed) coming to San Diego’s Comic-Con next week is director Tim Miller’s Terminator: Dark Fate. Miller knows a thing or two about Comic-Con—before he made his name directing Deadpool, he’d been coming to the Con for 25-years.
Miller spoke to Variety about coming to this year’s Con, where he’ll be joining his cast,
The Russo Brothers Tease Potential Major Marvel Reveal at Comic-Con
Few directors love to tease fan expectations quite as much as the Russo Brothers. They are on par with J.J. Abrams, another lover of the misdirection and the outright tease, and they’ve just about mastered it. In a new, cryptic tweet, the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame directors have teased their upcoming trip to San Diego’s Comic-Con. With Marvel once again claiming time at SDCC’s vaunted Hall H,

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Introducing Deadly new Sith Trooper
Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi gave us one of the best lightsaber battles in any Star Wars, ever. Full stop. Even the folks who were, ah, frustrated with the direction that Johnson took things in Last Jedi would concede that Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver)’s battle with the Praetorian Guards in Snoke’s Throne Room was epic (seen in the featured image above).
It: Chapter Two Director Andy Muschietti Going for “Overwhelming Experience” for Audience
You know you’ve got a good thing cooking when your sequel’s trailer is this scary. Director Andy Muschietti set the bar very, very high for himself with his 2017 adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic horror tome. That film went on to become the highest-grossing R-rated horror movie in film history. Now, Muschietti and the Losers Club are back for Chapter Two, with Muschietti once again working with screenwriter Gary Dauberman,
Star Trek: Picard Poster Reveals Patrick Stewart’s Return Includes a Dog
Jean-Luc Picard is back, and he’s not alone. The great Sir Patrick Stewart is reprising his role as the Starfleet’s most cerebral captain and he’s got a new best friend—a dog. A space dog, if you want to get technical about it. (How is ‘space dog’ technical? Good question—it’s just the way the pup is being described on the internet.) Stewart tweeted an image of a new poster for Star Trek: Picard and folks are freaking out—in a good way.
Listen to Beyoncé’s Single “Spirit” From The Lion King
The early reactions to the new, gorgeously rendered The Lion King hail a masterpiece of visual storytelling. Among the many aspects of director Jon Favreau’s updated take on the 1994 animated classic that wowed the critics was Beyoncé‘s turn as the lioness Nala. Now you can listen to Bey’s new single from the film, “Spirit,” which will be a part of an album she’s producing and curating for The Lion King.
Will Smith, Seth Rogen & More Pay Tribute to the Late, Great Rip Torn
Rip Torn, the talented actor of stage and screen, has passed away at 88. Torn earned an Oscar and Tony nomination, along with six Emmy nominations (he won in 1996) over the course of his long, singular career. He is likely best-known for his role as Artie on HBO’s groundbreaking The Larry Sanders Show. Artie was the tough, occasionally insouciant, yet surprisingly tender producer who steered late-night talk show host Larry (Garry Shandling) through cataclysms big and small.
The Lion King Early Reactions Hail A Roaring Achievement
Director Jon Favreau‘s The Lion King held its first screening last night, which means the initial reactions are now stampeding in. This reboot of the beloved 1994 animated classic had a lot to live up to. As he did for his 2016 remake of The Jungle Book, Favreau and his team used cutting edge technology to render, Simba, Mufasa and the rest of the animals of the African Serengeti in photo-realistic detail.
