How Highwaymen‘s Production Designer Recreated the Pursuit of Bonnie and Clyde

Production designer Michael Corenblith has a gift for recreating period films focused on real people including McDonald’s mogul Ray Kroc (The Founder), Walt Disney (Saving Mr. Banks), Davey Crockett (The Alamo) and astronaut Jim Lovell (Apollo 13). Now comes The Highwaymen. Opening Friday [March 15] and streaming March 31, the film casts Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as real-life Texas Rangers Frank Hamer and Maney Gault.

Let’s Break Down the new Avengers: Endgame Trailer

You’ve watched the new Avengers: Endgame trailer. You’ve scrutinized the new poster. Now it’s time to unpack the trailer and make sense of the new information.

The Beginning of the End—For Someone

The trailer begins with a message from Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) to Pepper Pot (Gwenyth Paltrow). Tony’s marooned on a spaceship after his nearly fatal tango with Thanos on Titan.

Expect a Star Wars: Episode IX Trailer in April

The safest bet on when to expect your first Star Wars: Episode IX trailer is at the Star Wars Celebration. The annual celebration kicks off on April 11 and runs through April 15. It has just been confirmed that director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy will be in attendance on a panel. There will also be “plenty of surprises and special guests.” When better to debut the trailer then during this event?

New Suits & a Desperate Mission Fuel new Avengers: Endgame Trailer

“God it seems like a thousand years ago I fought my way out of that cave, became Iron Man and realized I loved you.” This is, of course, Tony Stark, talking to Pepper Pots. “I know we said no more surprises, but, I was really hoping to pull off one last one.” Only Tony’s talking to her via a message in a bottle, so to speak. That bottle is the spaceship he’s gotten himself on after nearly being killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

Us Has a Creepy Cool Soundtrack and Unforgettable Remix

We saw Us at SXSW and it is an insane and scary mind twister that is satisfying in every way – down to the music. Remember back to our favorite Christmas present of waking up and watching the very first trailer? It opened with the Wilson family singing along to the Luniz classic “I Got 5 On It” on their way to the beach. The jam will officially be featured on the movie’s soundtrack along with some other great hits.

Kevin Smith Kept that Captain Marvel Stan Lee Cameo Secret for Months

A big part of the fun of being an MCU fan is taking part in the traditions and inside jokes. Spotting secrets, callbacks, and tie-ins never gets old. As we see more and more of the superhero adventures unfold, there are more ways to connect it all together. Captain Marvel is no exception with a whole host of Easter Eggs and spicy post-credits content. One of our favorite recurring moments are Marvel legend Stan Lee’s infamous cameos in each of the films.

Captain Marvel Almost had a Thor: Ragnarok Related Post-Credits Scene

You’ve likely already digested Captain Marvel‘s two post-credits scenes. (Spoiler alert). The first and most important showed us the moment when Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson, obviously) shows up in Avengers: EndgameThe brief but utterly compelling scene gave us Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) trying to figure out who was on the other end of Nick Fury (Samuel L.

Sony to Expand Spider-Man‘s Universe to TV

Sony has a hot hand with Spider-Man at the moment. The first and most obvious example is their Oscar-winning, game-changing Spider-Man: Into the Spider-VerseThen there was the box office smash hit Venombased on the titular antihero and sometime antagonist of Spider-Man. Then there’s Sony’s flagship Spider-Man film series starring Tom Holland, with Far From Home bowing this July 5.

Oscar Isaac Teases Fulfilling end to Skywalker Saga in Star Wars: Episode IX

In the end, there will have been 9 films stretched out over 42-years. What began in 1977 as a moonshot (pun intended) sci-fi space opera by a young George Lucas has become the single biggest film franchise in history. There were few people who ever thought that the trials and tribulations of a young Luke Skywalker and his plucky sister Leia would be the beginning of movie history, but here we are. This December 20,

Idris Elba’s Deadshot in The Suicide Squad to be Darker, More Damaged

You likely already know that Will Smith is out and Idris Elba is in as Deadshot James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Smith’s Floyd Lawton/Deadshot was one of the best parts of David Ayer’s 2016 Suicide Squad. Smith had major chemistry with the film’s breakout star —Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. Robbie should be reprising her role once she’s done filming Birds of Prey.

Making Wights & White Walkers With Game of Thrones‘ Prosthetics Team

When you think of the beastly creatures in Game of Thrones, the first thought is usually paid to Dany’s trio of dragons. When we analyzed season 8’s trailer, one of the most joyous parts was watching characters react to seeing Drogon and Rhaegal for the first time. (We all know what happened to Dany’s other dragon, Viserion.) Yet when you really think about it,

Nic Cage Goes “Full Cage” in Delightful Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Video

The Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse had almost an embarrassment of creative riches. A trio of talented directors. The super team of producer Chris Miller and writer-producer Phil Lord. That revolutionary animation. There was also, of course, that sensational cast. Shameik Moore was your star as Mile Morales, and his adventure as the up-and-coming Spider-Man put him into contact with a multiverse of other web-slingers. There was Jake Johnson’s Peter B.

The First Full-Length Aladdin Trailer Casts a Spell

We’ve seen teasers and TV spots, but now Disney has released the first full-length Aladdin trailer. This is our best look yet at Guy Ritchie’s live-action Aladdin, featuring Will Smith as the Genie and Mena Massoud as the lovable, down-on-his-luck Aladdin. The crucial role of Princess Jasmine is played by the immensely talented Naomi Scott.

There has been a lot of pressure on Ritchie and on Smith especially.

Let’s Discuss Those Delicious Captain Marvel Easter Eggs

You’ve seen Captain Marvel? You’ve read our piece on those post-credits scenes? You’re up to speed on the creative team behind one of Marvel’s best origin stories? You’re hip on how they de-aged Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg? Good, then you’re in the right place. If you haven’t seen the film then obviously do not read any further.

Okay!

This Video of Mad Max: Fury Road Without CGI is Simply Incredible

How good was George Miller‘s Mad Max: Fury Road? So good that his fellow directors often gush over his achievement (more on this below). Fury Road is, simply put, one of the best action films of the century. Miller’s vision of a parched, post-apocalyptic hellscape ruled by lunatics and their monstrous vehicles was a smash hit in every regard. It won an astonishing six Oscars: film editing (Margaret Sixel),

Meet the Creative Team That Helped Captain Marvel Soar

Captain Marvel‘s Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) is a part human part alien superhero who can 100% kick-ass. Seriously. Watch out Thanos. Humor, Horror, and Unpredictable Twists: Us Lives Up to the Hype

Us is unlike anything you’ve ever felt before, on every level. It would seem foolish to expect any film to live up to the hype of that gloriously ambiguous trailerreleased this past Christmas – much less the fanfare that comes with a long-queuing SXSW opening night premiere. I joined the line just before 1 pm in the afternoon, a full five and a half hours before the film was set to begin.

Early Reactions for Shazam Are Electric

We might all be heading to see Captain Marvel this weekend, but she isn’t the only superhero people are talking about today. Billy Batson is merely a month away from transforming into Shazam and early reactions to the newest member of the DCEU are grade A.

Critics have been tweeting their praise for the teenage superhero as “pure of heart” and “an absolute delight.” With comic movie clashes getting bigger and sometimes scarier,
