J.J. Abrams May Return to TV With New Sci-Fi Series

J.J. Abrams is not a man who shies away from opportunity, nor does he seem to lack for ideas. You may have heard he’s currently prepping Star Wars: Episode IX, which he’s co-writing and directing. For most mortals, this would be quite enough. Bringing this new trilogy to a satisfactory close (as if Star Wars fans would be content with satisfactory) is the biggest job in Hollywood,

We really like Lennie James. He was a joy to speak with when we interviewed him in 2016, and ever since, we’ve been delighted that the talented actor’s career has been booming. His brief but crucial role in Blade Runner 2049 proved that, no matter how much screen time he’s given, James has the kind of gravitas that the camera loves.

Mentions of the Unabomber immediately call to mind the deadly postal packages containing explosives and that famous police sketch of the suspect in a hoodie. While working on Manhunt: Unabomber, production designer Erik Carlson realized, however, that the case actually hinged on hundreds of handwritten documents. The eight-episode Discovery Channel miniseries delved into the infamous FBI investigation that eventually resulted in Ted Kaczynski’s arrest. Carlson painstakingly recreated all 17 of the homemade bombs,

The Goldbergs Composer on Bringing Fresh Life to 1980s Nostalgia

The 1980s were an awkward time for us all. No one escaped the fashion nightmares of track suits in bright colors, the huge hair, and an abundance of shoulder pads. Nearly all sins are forgiven with the passing of time, and The Goldbergs, now in season 5, proves there has been enough space between then and now for us to laugh at ourselves again.

The decade was, however, a golden age for nerds as cinematic classics like Ghostbusters,

There’s one more SNL episode before Christmas, but Kenan Thompson made an appearance as Santa this week to deliver arguably the most poignant and humorous sketch of the year. As the news cycle continues to descend into chaos and becomes increasingly NSFW each day, Thompson and Kate MacKinnon nailed the depressing climate with a hilarious host of kid actors.
