The Sumptuous Art of Black Panther
In our coverage of the now historic Black Panther, we interviewed some of the people responsible for giving the film its signature, now iconic look. Production designer Hannah Beachler and costume designer Ruth B. Carter were instrumental in creating Wakanda and the nation’s diverse, gorgeously costumed inhabitants. From the fierce Dora Milaje to the incredible panther suit, one of the joys of Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther was the monumentally talented crew he entrusted to help create Marvel’s most visually striking film.

What do you get when you take Saturday Night Live‘s most consistently hysterical superstar and team her up with an actress who has proven her comedic chops time and time again, most recently in Bad Moms? You get The Spy Who Dumped Me, starring Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis, directed and co-written by Susanna Fogel. Lionsgate has just dropped a new teaser trailer, and yup, we’re definitely excited about this.
Wade Adopts Wayward Mutants & Cable’s Not Having it in Wild new Deadpool 2 Trailer
It’s tactless, vulgar, violent, hilarious, and it’s finally here. The (definitely NSFW) Deadpool 2 trailer is totally outrageous and takes nothing seriously, which is exactly what we were hoping for.
First, let’s get to the goods. Cable (Josh Brolin) comes smashing through a wall and gives us all a lesson in how to make an entrance—this is now the second time we’ve seen Cable come for Deadpool, but this trailer is much more robust.
Chris Evans is Officially Done as Captain America After Avengers: 4
We knew this day was coming. Exactly eight years to the day that Marvel announced that Chris Evans was going to be Captain America, a new profile of Evans in the New York Times confirms that he’ll be putting down the shield after Avengers: 4. From the Times profile:

The Won’t You Be My Neighbor Trailer Gives Us a New Appreciation for a Childhood Hero
We are often warned to never meet our idols for fear they might be disappointing—or worse. Yet, there is one television star that seems to have lived up to his public persona. Mr. Rogers spoke to children as equals and revolutionized educational television. The documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? documents all the good Mr. Rogers put out into the world. There’s a lot of good.
What do you remember from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood?
Behold the First Teaser for Game of Thrones‘ Creator George R. R. Martin’s Nightflyers

How Billions‘ Production Designer Created the World of the Insanely Rich
Three years ago production designer Mike Shaw needed a change of pace from the lowdown penitentiary aesthetic he created for Orange is the New Black. In Showtime series Billions, Dash went the opposite way by designing the deluxe milieu inhabited by super-rich hedge fund shark Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis). “One of the biggest challenges in designing Billions is that a lot of people know what a millionaire’s lifestyle is like,
The Composing Team for Life Sentence Gives A New Beginning a Fresh Sound
Time seems to go by too fast. You rush to work, cram in family events at night and meet friends on the weekend. Suddenly weeks, months and years fly by. What we often forget is that life is also long. Much longer that Stella expected on new CW dramedy Life Sentence.
Lucy Hale plays a cancer patient who believes she has months left to live, only to find out she’s been cured.
Andrew Garfield Investigates When His New Love Disappears in Under the Silver Lake Trailer
Romance that seems too good to be true usually is. We’ve almost gotten used to ghosting in our digital dating age. Completely disappearing in the middle of the night without your neighbor noticing, however, is another level of epic. So begins the story in the new trailer for Under the Silver Lake. The first look at the film is quirky, cool and exceptionally awkward.
Despite the likelihood that Sam’s (Andrew Garfield) new love interest took off,
See a Storyboard Sequence from Coco Come to Life
Coco had us seriously rooting for young Miguel and his burgeoning musical career. The moment when he finally plays for a crowd of thousands is a thrilling fulfillment of all our hopes. Disney and Pixar have now released a glimpse into how that moment came together.
Previous script-to-screen videos (like this adorable Wall-E scene) have compared the actual written word to the final scene. For this Coco clip,
Deadpool 2 Reportedly Added More Fan Favorites During Reshoots
THR reported that Deadpool 2 went back to do six days of reshoots in Vancouver last month. Not to panic, though, fans. This is almost certainly a good thing. It seems that it improved audience favorability of the final product, which was already high. Also, there was reportedly a “secret cameo” shot in Los Angeles and added to the film.
As we reported last week,
5 Great Moments Form Rian Johnson’s Audio Commentary on the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Blu-Ray

This is due to writer/director Rian Johnson’s love, and skill, at bringing people deep into his creative process. The Last Jedi Blu-ray release is especially robust, with Johnson’s detailed, delicious commentary joining a feature length documentary, The Director and the Jedi, that gives fans a comprehensive and compelling look at how the ambitious,
How the Isle of Dogs Animators Drew Life from the Characters Frame By Frame
Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox was an incredible feat of animation. The storytelling transcended the inanimate objects and you can hardly believe the characters are mere puppets. A new featurette for Isle of Dogs dives deep into the artists’ methodology, giving us an incredible 3-minute documentary of the life of a stop-motion animated film.
Breathing a character into a lump of clay requires comprehensive planning. The film started in a storyboard,
Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin go to war in new Sicario: Day of the Soldado Trailer
When Sicario was released in 2015, about the brutal battle against Mexico’s drug cartels, it instantly became one of the most compelling, riveting crime dramas of the century. Featuring an all-star lineup both in front and behind the camera, Sicario was both unflinching in its depiction of the ravages of the war on drugs on both sides of the US-Mexico border, and an intimate look on the toll this battle takes on those caught in the middle,

The Westworld Season 2 Working Title Hints at Where the Hosts are Headed
Each season of Westworld is like a complete chapter in the story, the first of which was aptly titled ‘The Maze.’ Having seen the first season, that makes complete sense. The Man in Black (Ed Harris) was constantly trying to reach the end of the maze as Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) insisted it was not meant for him. The show’s mysteries were embedded within the labyrinth of the park. Season 2 now has a working title,
Renée Zellweger Embodies an American Icon in Judy
Believe it or not, that is not Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland you’re looking at. Renée Zellweger is stepping into Garland’s ruby slippers for BBC Film Judy. Filming began yesterday in London, and the production tweeted out a picture of the star in action. The resemblance blew us away.

Breaking Down the Final Avengers: Infinity War Trailer
This past Friday we shared the final, truly epic trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. There’s a lot going on in these 2 minutes and change, so much, in fact, we thought it would be helpful to break it down. The film’s plot is a little bit more spelled out: the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) arrives on Earth, and all the Avengers and just about every other significant character since 2008’s Iron Man is on hand to try and stop him.
Our Favorite Moments From Bill Hader’s Return in a Season’s Best Saturday Night Live
Saturday Night Live alum (and we’d argue, legend) Bill Hader returned to Studio 8H to host SNL for the second time. While his HBO show Barry is getting great notices, it was a joy watching the gifted comedian and actor get back into his SNL groove for the season’s most consistently hysterical show. Hader reprised a couple of his classic characters (Stefon, anyone?),
