J.K. Rowling Reveals Why Everyone Goes to Paris in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is a journey, both literally and figuratively. The action is moving from New York City to Paris, as promised. J.K. Rowling explains in a new featurette that it will also be a real evolution for many of the characters. In fact, don’t believe everything you see. Even after this film ends, there are more surprises to come.
The nefarious Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured and unmasked near the end of the previous film,
Michael Sends a Terrifying Message in New Halloween Clip
Halloween is still 16 days away, but Halloween is a mere four. Michael Myers is back in all his gory glory, and Universal has shared one of the most grimacing scenes from the film ahead of the theatrical release. EW exclusively shared the terrifying moment between the maniac murderer and one of his many victims.
Rhian Rees plays Dana, a journalist pursuing the true story of what happened between Michael (James Jude Courtney) and Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) four decades ago.
Kurt Russell is the Coolest Santa in History in The Christmas Chronicles Trailer
Kurt Russell is the best thing to happen to Santa since Tim Allen scared the big man off his roof. The Santa Clause was a defining holiday moment for my generation and Kurt Russell is upping the ante in a new Christmas gift you can enjoy from Thanksgiving to whenever you take your tree down. No judgment. The first trailer for The Christmas Chronicles has arrived and Santa is real. Like,
NYCC: Extended Aquaman Trailer Reveals Arthur’s Traditional Costume
In the midst of New York Comic Con, a new hero is rising. An epic five-minute trailer released today reveals much more about Arthur Curry’s (Jason Momoa) ascension to Aquaman than we’ve ever seen. To rise to his promised place on the throne, he must first descend beneath the waves.
A single drop of sweat, or uh other bodily fluid, can unlock the secrets to a watery alternate realm.
Taron Egerton Rides the Wave of Fame as Elton John in First Rocketman Teaser
Elton John has written dozens of hits and enjoyed a smashing career lasting more than five decades. There is one song in particular, however, that is the focal point of an upcoming biopic about the musician’s life. Paramount released the first trailer for Rocketman today and it is a rock and roll spectacle.
Taron Egerton stars as the famous singer/songwriter and while it is not an obvious choice, it totally works here.
Venom Unleashes Its Full Potential in New Clip
A new Venom clip finally reveals the full transformation from Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) into his symbiote alter ego. The two seem to work in perfect tandem, but once the symbiote takes over, it’s all-consuming. We also finally get to see how Venom moves in full action mode and a taste of what exactly they’re capable of.
Earlier today we got almost a full body glimpse at Venom. He’s massive and muscly,
The X-Men Turn on Each Other in First Dark Phoenix Teaser
Origin stories of an average human becoming a superhero are always fascinating. Maintaining fidelity of a character helps us build an attachment to them and we can better understand their motivations. We just want to love you, heroes. Let us in! However, the origin story of a villain can be even more interesting as there are often dark twists lying in wait. Even more so if we see a superhero turn into a villain as is expected to be the case with Dark Phoenix.
Eddie Brock Probes Dr. Drake About the Life Foundation’s Ethics in First Venom Clip
As we wrote earlier today, IGN went on the set of Venom to find out the answers to some of our most burning questions. How did the VFX team transform Tom Hardy into the tentacled creature? How do the symbiotes get to our planet? And possibly most interestingly, what is the deal with the Life Foundation? Turns out, the saintly scientists aren’t what they seem. They are the culprits behind harvesting alien life forms and are covering up some more sinister activities.
Jordan Peele Crosses Over Into The Twilight Zone
If it feels as though you may have been transported to another dimension, it’s possible that you have. Jordan Peele has once more unlocked the door to the Twilight Zone and any number of strange and wonderful things are soon to unfold. As one of the strongest contemporary writers working right now, Peele has taken the mantle of one of the best written shows in TV history. Ever since CBS announced Peele’s involvement in the revival of the sci-fi series,
New Ralph Breaks the Internet Trailer Reveals Ralph and Vanellope’s Mission
I am almost to the point where I need to admit that Ralph Breaks the Internet may be too much for me. There have been two previous trailers released and I have fallen into uncontrollable laughter to the point that I am gasping for breath. In the teaser, there was that hilariously morbid game of overfeeding the cute animals who eventually pop. Then there was the perfect personification of the annoying search engine autofill.
Sabrina Celebrates Her 16th Birthday in First Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Trailer
Birthdays are apparently a big deal among the Spellman clan. The first poster and teaser for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina feature the teenage witch celebrating another trip around the sun. Her party has the normal things all birthday parties do. Cake, dancing, and a horned demon that everyone worships.
Ok, maybe that last part is a little unusual. In fact, there’s a lot of unique happenings in the first look at the Riverdale spinoff.
The AHS: Apocalypse Trailer is a Greatest Hits Bonanza
The first trailer for American Horror Story: Apocalypse is completely batty. Familiar characters may have returned, but the suffocating angst of Murder House and glamorous sophistication of Coven have given way to the outrageous. Some of the most fun personas from the series return in a wild mashup mixed with a wild new storyline.
“No need for the rules anymore. The chaos has won,” the trailer declares.
Laurie and Michael Come Face to Terrifying Face in New Halloween Trailer
Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is a force of nature. Forty years after her first encounter with the Shape, she has evolved from an unsuspecting target of his bloodlust to a confident protector. The new Halloween trailer reveals how the game has changed since the last time Laurie and Michael (James Jude Courtney) met. Almost all of this footage is new and it’s all unequivocally awesome.
There is a major power shift here through the camera movement alone.
Fantastic Beasts Cast and Crew Reflect on the Joy of Returning to Hogwarts
Jude Law lived the ultimate fan experience on the set of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The most magical place in the wizarding world is undoubtedly Hogwarts. In the Harry Potter series, we got to experience it for the first time along with Harry and his fellow first years. Pictures talked, rooms took shape as needed, plants screamed. There were surprises and mysteries around every corner. Now on the set of The Crimes of Grindelwald,
The Final Predator Trailer Goes Full Throttle
Let it never be said that The Predator held anything back. If the final 2-minute trailer is any indication, Shane Black goes all in. The plot is outrageous and certainly doesn’t attempt to carry the psychological weight of a film like Alien. This is a gory action-palooza that is completely self-aware of its own over the top nature. And holy hell are there some wild moments.
Behold the long promised Preda-dogs.
The Trailer for Orson Welles’ Unfinished Film The Other Side of the Wind Was Just Released
Streaming sites have made some really interesting things possible. The primary example is binge watching, but also reviving canceled series and now, resurrecting lost work. Ironically, Orson Welles’ unfinished work, The Other Side of the Wind, was a satire piece reflecting the evolution of Hollywood in the 1970s. Ironically, the film will now screen on Netflix more than 40 years after filming was completed.
Welles was a prodigious director who first made a splash on radio with a colorful reading of H.G.
Mysteries Abound in Riverdale Season 3 Trailer
Is it ever spring in Riverdale? The doom, gloom, and teenage angst seems to hang over the town in an autumn wintry haze. But let’s be honest. We are here for the drama and drama there shall be. Season 3 even seems to be slipping into the occult, perhaps a small nod to showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s Afterlife with Archie zombie series. Aguirre-Sacasa also created the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina the definitely looks like it will have ritualistic elements.
Halloween Teases the Chilling New Soundtrack by John Carpenter
David Gordon Green took over directing duties for Halloween, but creator John Carpenter still has his fingers in the mix infusing us with nightmares. The king of the slasher, who haunted us 40 years ago with the anxiety riddled Halloween theme, has composed a new soundtrack for the upcoming sequel.
You can revisit that chilling refrain in a way too exciting teaser for the film’s music. Just hearing these notes again has my anticipation at a fever pitch.
The First Roma Trailer is Simultaneously Soothing and Invigorating
The first trailer for Alfonso Cuarón’s new film, Roma, is a transcendent celebration of life and strength through suffering. There’s absolutely no dialogue, but every beautiful image defies language. We all know how every one of the intimate family moments feels and that holds the promise of something truly special.
Love, courage, hope, change, and home are all words used to describe the story and all things I felt while watching it.
Everyone in The Romanoffs Has a Serious Royalty Obsession
The first trailer for Matthew Weiner’s upcoming series The Romanoffs doesn’t really tell us more than we knew before. But it is outrageous and decadent and basically a big one-minute name drop. Meet a whole slew of people who think they are related to the slain royal Romanov family – and all of the people who don’t believe them.
Brief refresh from history class. During the Bolshevik revolution,
