Avengers: Infinity War Cast Didn’t Know About Ending Until Day of Shooting

We’ve written a lot about the infamous ending to Avengers: Infinity War, but this might be the wildest thing we’ve heard yet. Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) was at Ace Comic-Con in Seattle this past weekend and revealed that the cast had no idea about how the film would end until the day of filming. Olsen and her fellow cast mates were told by the Russo Brothers—while they were all stuffed into a van (H/t ScreenRant):

“I found out from the Russos exactly what was going to happen and it wasn’t until we shot it on that day we learned what the ending was.

Daria Reboot Among Planned Programs for MTV Studios Launch

Sometimes, to make the present better, you have to go back in time. Which is exactly what MTV is doing with a planned Daria reboot.

In a world where some reboots can feel like cash grabs, Daria is a refreshing, if unexpected, title to bring back to life. The new Daria show, if picked up by a third party like Amazon, Hulu, or Netflix, will be joined by Aeon Flux and The Real World reboots.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Introduces the Most Sinister Dinosaur Yet

I am fascinated by the perpetual currency of Jurassic Park. We know the premise: man creates dinosaur, dinosaur eats man. We are five films deep into this thing, but I have not tired of it yet. One film ends and I leave satisfied thinking we have reached the peak of raptors running amok. Then comes the next and the question must be answered: how can we make this worse? Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom does just that in some surprising ways without jumping the shark.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s Production Designer Takes on the Indoraptor

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom boasts more dinosaurs than any previous film in the Jurassic franchise—combined. While prehistoric mayhem set in the present is precisely what Jurassic fans expect, it’s a major challenge for the film crew. This was especially true for production designer Andy Nicholson, who was tasked with creating a literal house of horrors for director J.A. Bayona. With the action in Fallen Kingdom moving from Isla Nublar to the mainland,

Preacher Showrunner Sam Catlin on Grandma Driving Season 3’s Insane Misadventures

It had to happen eventually, according to showrunner Sam Catlin, so Preacher Season 3 begins this Sunday, June 24, at the creepy Angelville plantation ruled by the terrifying spell-caster known as “Grandma.” Fans of the comic book source material figured the matriarch would show up at some point, but they didn’t expect her to be portrayed by Betty Buckley, the Broadway musical icon. “Betty‘s got this great authority and her audition was incredible,”

Hannah John-Kamen is Rewriting Comic History as Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp

Women rule the MCU. Well, maybe not yet, but the tide is turning. The entire first phase of Marvel films was dominated by male superheroes and male villains. Since then, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Gamora, and more have joined the ranks. Captain Marvel will feature the first woman to headline a solo Marvel film. But before that, Ant-Man and the Wasp will face a female foe this summer in Ghost.

Hannah John-Kamen spoke with /Film about the mysterious villain.

George Clooney in Talks to Direct Sci-Fi/Thriller Echo

George Clooney’s directorial career has mostly dealt in historical dramas, with exceptional films like Good Night, and Good Luck and The Ides of March. Marvel Narrows Black Widow Director Search to Three Outstanding Women

All indications about the next phase of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe will be a more inclusive, female-led world. We’re thrilled about this. You could argue this phase has already started. First, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther changed cinema, and we know we’ll be seeing more of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) on the big screen (despite what happened at the end of Infinity War). We also already know that for the first time ever,

Actor

Merritt Wever Transitions From Loopy Nurse to Frontier Toughie in Godless

Merritt Wever has no idea why she was picked to play a tough frontier woman in Netflix western Godless, but the New York actress wasn’t about to ask questions when writer-director-creator Scott Frank came calling. “I don’t go nosing around like that,” says Wever, who won a 2013 Emmy co-starring in Nurse Jackie as Edie Falco’s sly, exuberant sidekick Zoey Barkow.

Standing in extreme contrast to Zoey, Wever’s Emmy-buzzed portrayal of Mary Agnes McNue celebrates a gun-wielding bisexual badass who defends the frontier town of LaBelle in 1884 after all the menfolk get killed in a catastrophic mining accident.
