Was a Secret Character Hidden in Last Week’s Episode of Game of Thrones?

At the 1:04 mark in the "Inside the Episode" featurette below, you'll revisit the moment in "The Broken Man" when three members of the "Brotherhood Without Banners" come upon the Hound's new family of sorts, Septon Ray (Ian McShane) and his peaceful followers. The man in the middle of these three is who we have our eye on; note his yellow-ish cloak. We'll come back to this. The arrival of the Brotherhood is an important moment in the episode regardless, as by the time the credits roll,

All Hail Lyanna Mormont, Game of Thrones Mightiest new Character

You've got to hand it to Game of Thrones. In "The Broken Man," an episode that involved a 20-foot tall giant's one word affirmative response to Jon Snow's call for help, it was the four-and-a-half foot tall, 10 year old Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey) and her affirmative response that stole the show.

But first, let's revisit Jon, Sansa and Davos meeting with the wildlings. Despite Tormund Giantsbane's solidarity with Jon, the wildlings were not inititally keen on going to war with the Bolton's,

New Vice Principals Trailer Features Bill Murray

HBO's comedy game is strong. Two of the most reliable ways to laugh out loud reside on the premium cable channel in the form of Veep and Silicon Valley. Now they've gone ahead and given us another show we're adding to our already packed DVR slate—Vice Principals. The new trailer features a cameo by Bill Murray, but clearly the show will rely on the dangerous (and demented) duo of Danny McBride and Walter Goggins.

Game of Thrones: The Broken Man

And once again, they are fated to rise and fall together. We’re talking, of course, about Arya and the Hound, who last parted when Arya refused to put the old dog out of his misery after his bruising, brutal, and losing fight against Brienne in season four. In a Game of Thrones rarity, we meet the Hound, also known as Sandor Clegane, in a cold open—and he's very much alive. He’s now in a group,

How Actual New York Chefs Reality-Checked Restaurant Drama Feed the Beast

AMC touts its new David Schwimmer/Jim Sturgess drama Feed the Beast (debuting Sunday, June 5, at 10 pm ET) as a show that explores the "insanity of the New York restaurant world." It's a topic series consultant Harold Dieterle knows a lot about. After winning Bravo TV's Top Chef crown, the American Culinary Institute-trained New Yorker came out swinging in Manhattan's hyper-competitive fine dining scene, where he ran three critically acclaimed restaurants at the same time.

Talking to Seth Meyers About Late Night‘s Growing Power

Seth Meyers is really starting to get comfortable in the hosting chair at Late Night: Seth Meyers and people are taking notice of his no holds barred skewering of political issues. We discuss how he manages to present a strong point of view and keep people laughing, being called the ‘heir to Jon Stewart’ and how he feels about Trump (hint: he’s not laughing so hard anymore).

Game of Thrones Recap: “Blood of my Blood”

Is there a show in television history with worse fathers than Game of Thrones? In this week’s episode, directed once again by Jack Bender (the man behind last week’s sensational “The Door”) we meet Randyll Tarly, Sam’s father. The man is, to put it mildly, an awful person to break bread with. He doesn't speak for the first few minutes, and you just know when he finally does it won't be,

Happy Memorial Day Weekend: Your Hilarious Outtakes From Silicon Valley

HBO’s comedy Silicon Valley is one of those rare gems (along with Veep) that is perfectly cast. There are really no weak links on either show. On Silicon Valley, series regular T.J. Miller is reliably one of the funniest people on the show, and on TV in general. When it comes to quips, outbursts, put downs and insults, Miller's in a class of his own.

Game of Thrones Actor Kristian Nairn on the World’s Love of Hodor

If you're not caught up with Game of Thrones, now's the time to turn back.

As we discussed in our recap, the final minutes of last Sunday's episode "The Door" were a revelation—the gentle giant known as Hodor (and revealed this season to have originally been named Wyllis, a Winterfell stable boy who could very much speak) went from one of GoT's plainest, most laughable characters into one of its most astonishing heroes.

Game of Thrones Recap: The Door

And once again, Game of Thrones ends an episode with a stunning sequence that leaves you breathless, highlighted by a character fulfilling their destiny. After last week’s barn burner “Book of the Stranger” ended in a literal barn (of sorts) burning and Dany emerging as the undisputed leader of the Dothraki, “Hold the Door” somehow managed to top it. In fact, one could argue this was one of the most satisfying and emotional payoffs in the long,

Watch The Wild First 5 Minutes of AMC’s Preacher

There is a lot of exictement over AMC's Preacher, the supernatural dark comedic drama that follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a West Texas preacher who is inhabited by mysterious being that gives him a very weird power. Jesse's ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) have to come together, and once they do  they find themselves in a psychotic world filled with characters from Heaven and Hell (and points in between). Now AMC has released the first five minutes.

Game of Thrones Recap: “Book of the Stranger”

"Book of the Stranger" was, in a word, hot. Episode four of season six was a busy, beautiful bit of television, with major moments for some of our favorite characters, including a glorious reunion (Jon Snow and Sansa's warm, tearful embrace was the definition of cathartic) and perhaps one of the best kickers to end an episode in the show's long history of great kickers to end episodes. Let's break it down:

Game of Thrones Actress Hannah Murray Joins Kathryn Bigelow’s Next Film

When Kathryn Bigelow casts you in a film, it's a big deal. The Oscar-winning director of Zero Dark Thirty is one of the best in the business at filming nervy, complex action films and, in the process, making action stars (or cementing them) of her actors and actresses. Think of Jessica Chastain's gritty performance in Zero Dark Thirty, or Jeremy Renner's in The Hurt Lockerafter these films,

Game of Thrones Recap: “Oathbreaker”

A few major Jon Snow-related questions were answered in "Oathbreaker," beginning with what the resurrected Lord Commander would be like; more or less the same. Although he's only been back among the living for a short time, Jon Snow seems to be himself (with a few nasty stab wounds). He was emotional and understandably confused. He was appreciative of his friends, like Davos and Toromund (who managed to get a joke in about Jon's penis size,

The Good Wife director Rosemary Rodriguez Talks About the Show’s End

When The Good Wife premiered in 2009, it was a different type of show. It had many of the elements of a procedural — weekly court cases and stand-alone proceedings — but it also featured a strong premise that helped the show build intriguing long-term storylines, strong relationships and truly memorable characters. Even when cable and premium shows began dominating many of the major Emmy categories, CBS’ The Good Wife stood out and was the last network show to be nominated for best drama at the Emmys (a feat it accomplished in 2011).

Game of Thrones: Watch Tyrion Tame the Dragons

If you're not caught up with Game of Thrones, stop reading.

As we discussed yesterday in our recap of "Home," director Jeremy Podeswa shot a gorgeous scene between Tyrion and Dany's dragons that has made one of the most delicious Game of Thrones theories seem entirely credible—Tyrion has Targaryen blood, connecting him to Dany and her dragons.

First, let's just take a moment to appreciate the way the scene between Tyrion and the dragons was shot.
