Behind The Scenes of The Walking Dead Season 8
AMC just released a behind the scenes look at Season 8 of The Walking Dead that is a pretty good highlight of everything we love about the show. It also strongly foreshadows the violence to come.
Rick, played by Andrew Lincoln, has united a formidable army to fight Negan and the Saviors, but they are ruthless. Last season was almost too much for us to bear from these conscienceless monsters. Season 8 is going to be total war between the groups and the cast and crew are all but preparing us for a lot of losses.
Miley Cyrus and James Corden Carpool Karaoke and Cry on Command
Miley Cyrus just made her debut appearance on what is one of the strongest sketches to come out of late night TV, Carpool Karaoke.
Cyrus was James Corden’s most recent carpool lane buddy. In an era of abundant auto tuning, Miley proves her chops are the real deal. You can see her technique up close as she sings along to her own tunes and the girl has got it. There’s a reason she’s on The Voice.
Mr. Robot‘s Production Designer on Designing Disintegration in Season 3
From the outset, Mr. Robot and hacker Elliot (Rami Malek) have been barreling toward a doomsday scenario, so fans of the USA Network show, which began Season 3 Wednesday at 10/9 pm, will be happy to see that things are only getting worse. “The theme for Season 3 is ‘Disintegration,'” says production designer Anastasia White, who teamed with show creator Sam Esmail to implement his vision of a chaotic New York City beset by a power outage.
A New Day Dawns for Rick in The Walking Dead Seaon 8 Teaser
Last season of The Walking Dead took a major emotional toll on us all. I don’t know if we can take losses like that again, but here we go.
The season 8 teaser just dropped, and it’s looking far more optimistic than the opening of the previous season. Any signs of positivity are difficult to believe on a post-apocalyptic show where half the characters have died over the show’s run, but the 15 second clip does not reach the depths of despair Rick and the gang faced in season 7.
Bart Pranks Moe on a Game of Thrones Themed Episode of The Simpsons
Even in a Middle Ages fantasy world with no phone, Moe is still falling for the same prank he’s been subjected to over the last 29 years.
Bart had a great idea for one of his classic prank calls to Moe, but in the season 29 premiere, the medieval setting was a bit of a challenge. No matter for Bart. He took a cue from Game of Thrones and sent a carrier raven with a note to Moe’s tavern.
Creating the Zombie Polar Bear Attack in Game of Thrones
Back in late August, we shared this behind-the-scenes featurette that detailed the wild episode, “Beyond the Wall,” that included not only the massive battle between Jon and his guys and the Night King, but also that zombie polar bear attack. Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have been trying to get the zombie polar bear into a episode for years. Once they came to the script for “Beyond the Wall,”
The Best Sketch from Ryan Gosling’s SNL Appearance
No one does modern day melodrama better than Ryan Gosling, and he got to show off his talents in Saturday Night Live’s season premiere this weekend. Gosling kicked off the year with a star studded show featuring musical guest Jay-Z, Alec Baldwin reprising his role as President Trump, and special guest Emma Stone.
The cast revisited the alien abduction sketch that featured Kate McKinnon and was a runaway hit the last time Gosling hosted,
Tom Hanks to Reprise David S. Pumpkins in Animated SNL Halloween Special
David S. Pumpkins is his own thing. And now he’s getting his own Halloween special. Any questions?
The Saturday Night Live instant classic is getting an animated makeover. One of the most popular sketches of last season featured guest host Tom Hanks as the not scary, loudly dressed, pleasant gentleman on an otherwise scary “Hell-evator” ride. As the thrill seeking couple ascended the horror-themed floors, David and his dancing skeletons confuse and amuse.
Game of Thrones Confusion: No One Seems to Know for Sure What Viserion is Breathing
If there’s one thing Game of Thrones theorists and speculators would like to believe, it’s that there’s an answer out there, somewhere. If they theorize that Bran is the Night King, while they’ll argue their reasons for why they’re right, what they must have, at some point, is definitive proof one way or another. Whether in a Reddit forum or over some beers IRL, Game of Thrones has likely generated more fan theorists than any other show in history (including
Celebrating New York On Screens Big & Small
Everyone knows that no city on earth is the setting for as many films as New York City. As the New York Times film critic A.O. Scott wrote back in late August, according to City Hall, there are around 120 film and television projects in production on any given day in the city, and there are about 12,000 permits issued a year. “We might complain, but really we wouldn’t want it any other way,”
See Taylor Kitsch as David Koresh in First Waco Images
When it was initially announced that Friday Night Lights leading man Taylor Kitsch would play mentally disturbed Branch Davidian leader David Koresh, we weren’t so sure, but with the release of the first pictures of Kitsch in character, we totally see it. Kitsch dons Koresh’s iconic 1990s mullet and oversized frames to transform into the infamous cult leader in limited series Waco. It’s a convincing transformation from heatthrob to notorious fugitive.
Neil Gaiman Lending his Voice to The Simpsons‘ cat Snowball in “Treehouse of Horror XXVIII”
Get ready for a very spooky, yet always humorous, Simpsons Halloween! The decades-long tradition continues as The Simpsons will be debuting their 28th annual “Treehouse of Horrors” Halloween special coming next month. The 2017 edition will feature legendary writer Neil Gaiman, who will finally give voice to the favorite family cat, Snowball (a first!). The episode will classically feature all the beloved family members outside of the shows normal setting. From The Shining to Stephen King novels,
Gal Gadot & Kumail Nanjiani to Host Saturday Night Live
Two of this year’s biggest stars, Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot and The Big Sick‘s Kumail Nanjiani, couldn’t have been in more disparate films, but their success can be measured in critical raves (and insane box office for Wonder Woman) and the fact they’ve both asked to host Saturday Night Live. Gadot, who had arguably the biggest year of any movie star, will host Oct. 7 with musical guest Sam Smith.
Fox Reveals that New Mutants May be the Scariest Superhero Film Yet
Long gone are the days of studios being in the business of curating movie stars, and it’s getting rarer to even see standalone films. Marvel has long had a multi-phase plan of building out its superhero universe and DC has begun to launch the Justice League era of film, but not much is yet known about the direction Fox will take their properties. New Mutants may be the answer to that question.
CW Developing a new Sabrina the Teenage Witch Project
Ever since Riverdale took the traditionally wholesome Archie comics series and turned it into a racy teen melodrama, fans have been clamoring to see more from the characters. Our wish has been granted in the form of a horror version of Sabrina the Teenage Witch that’s being developed by The CW.
The series will be based on Archie spinoff comic series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The company still prints the classic style you’re used to,
Jordan Peele Developing TV Series About Nazi Hunters
After writing and directing the critical and commercial smash Get Out, Jordan Peele had his choice of next projects, and now it looks like one of those (he’s got a few in the works) will find the multi-talented star returning to TV, writing and directing a period thriller called The Hunt.
The show, inspired by true events, will follow Nazi hunters in the 1970s on the warpath for retribution.
Fifth Game of Thrones Prequel in Development at HBO
When you have a series as popular and beloved as Game of Thrones, it makes sense that you’d like to extend the story beyond the original series. It’s made doubly sensible for HBO considering George R. R. Martin’s multi-volume series is so richly detailed, with backstories and a sprawling history that amounts to several potential TV series worth of material. HBO was already considering four different GoT prequels once
Behold the Brutal First Trailer for The Punisher
Everyone was more or less in agreement that Jon Bernthal‘s Frank Castle made Daredevil’s season two irresistible. As the most ungoverned of Marvel’s superheroes, a mirthless, shattered veteran who gave Daredevil a jolt in the best way. Now Bernthal’s unhinged brute has his own series, and Netflix has delivered the first trailer for The Punisher for your viewing pleasure.
As to be expected, The Punisher may exist in the same universe as the other Marvel characters we know and love,
It’s Happening: Damon Lindelof Teases Image From his Watchmen HBO Series
For those of us (and there are a lot of us) who adore “Watchmen,” the groundbreaking graphic novel by Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons, we’ve long thought the best medium for the material would be a TV series. Zack Snyder gave the material his best shot with his 2009 feature film, but there’s just too much good stuff, and weirdness, in the source material to fit into a film. This is why word that Damon Lindelof,
Architect Who Inspired The Jetsons Passes Away
Ever wonder where Hanna-Barbera animators got their vision for the futuristic world of The Jetsons? A lot of the inspiration came from the forward thinking architectural designs of Gin Wong. Wong passed away this month at the age of 94.
Wong emigrated from China at the age of 9. He eventually worked his way up to become president of highly respected Pereira & Associates architectural firm.
The Jetsons first aired in 1962 as Wong was making his mark on Los Angeles.
