Watch This Insane Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Music Video Inferno

There have been lots of reasons to love James Gunn’s two Guardians of the Galaxy films. There’s been the loose, lively chemistry between the cast, the zany, cosmic storytelling, the humor, the heart, Groot, and also, of course, baby Groot (and teen Groot!) What Guardians also possesses, more so than any other Marvel movie in history, is a deep, abiding love of music—it’s right there in the title, with the films so influenced by Star-lord’s beloved mixed tapes.

What we Know About Ex Machina Director Alex Garland’s Next Film Annihlation

Alex Garland projects are some of my favorites. I actually bought the Blu-ray of his 2015 film Ex Machina for fear that the film would rotate out of the streaming services I use, thereby hindering my ability to obsessively rewatch the film every few months or so. And there is no better time to be an Alex Garland fan than now, as it was just announced that his next film, Annihilation,

Fall Film Preview: Major Directors Return With Passion Projects

What other than looking to fall’s slate of Oscar-baiting films will get us through the dog days of summer (besides, right now, an air conditioned theater and a cherry coke the size of our head)? Of course it’s far too early for much buzz to build up, but we still know which of the big studio releases, coming out when the weather cools down, are on our personal must-see roster.

Murder on the Orient Express

The Kenneth Branagh-directed adaptation of one of Agatha Christie’s most iconic novels is the fourth film iteration of the detective drama,

Fearless of Spoilers? Then Read This Super Intriguing Game of Thrones Theory

The first few episodes of Game of Thrones have been tough on fans of Daenerys Targaryen. We’ve seen her fail at the hands of Euron Greyjoy, leaving her navy all but obliterated, with Yara Greyjoy, and Ellaria and Tyene Sand quite unhappily captured. So too, her move to take Casterly Rock has proven to be another misstep. But if one’s fans theory is correct, these brutal losses in battle might just be worthwhile in the end.

From actor (lawman David Hale on FX’s Sons of Anarchy) to acclaimed screenwriter (2015’s Mexican drug-war thriller Sicario, 2016’s Texas-set neo-Western Hell or High Water) to writer-director (Wind River, opening today), Taylor Sheridan has had quite a career trajectory since he first popped up on the Hollywood scene in the mid-90s as a TV acting staple. The 47-year-old Lone Star native considers his three feature films so far to be part of a trilogy that examines the state of the American frontier,

Check out the First Trailer for Eli Roth’s Death Wish Starring Bruce Willis

We can finally take a peek at the first trailer for Eli Roth’s Death Wish remake, starring Bruce Willis as Paul Kersey, a mild, liberal Chicago architect who essentially becomes the arch angle of death after his wife (Elizabeth Shue) and daughter (Camila Morrone) are the victims of brutal home invasion.

Director Michael Winner’s 1974 original starred Charles Bronson, and was enough of a hit that four sequels followed. Willis, no stranger to action films (he was once the undisputed king of them) is an interesting match for director Eli Roth,

Pennywise Would Like to see you now in two new It Teasers

All indications point to Andy Muschietti’s It being one of the year’s scariest films. Written by Chase Palmer, writer/director extraordinaire Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman, the trailer and teasers we’ve seen thus far hint at perhaps the most terrifying Stephen King adaptation in years, with an R rating to prove it.

It follows a group of teenagers in Derry Main who are assaulted by It, a malevolent force whose favorite form is that of Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgard).

Game of Thrones Releases Images for Episode 4 “Spoils of War”

One of the images HBO just released for this Sunday’s Game of Thrones Episode, “The Spoils of War,” highlights one of the reunions we knew was coming this season; between Theon Greyjoy and Jon Snow. The shot shows Theon on the beach in Dragonstone, where he will likely test just how noble a man Jon Snow really is, and whether he’s so focused on the Night’s King and the White Walkers that he has no time for revenge.

The Walking Dead Celebrates its 100th Episode

When The Walking Dead returns this October, the premiere will also mark the series’ hundredth episode. A hoped-for milestone for all shows, the cast took a moment to commemorate the occasion with a video, released by AMC. Featuring quirky and personal tributes from many of the main cast, the video is a testament to the show’s monumental success. Cast members reflect on everything from the show’s longevity, to their surprise that their character has endured the inhospitable world of The Walking Dead for so long.

A Geological Data Scientist Weighs in on Game of Thrones Doom of Valryia Myth

Even fans would probably agree that it’s for the best that the world of Game of Thrones does not actually exist. Between imminent threats like dragons and Cersei, the unforgiving landscapes featured can often seem like non-threats in comparison. But those who really cling to the details George R. R. Martin includes in his descriptions – and those with expertise in geology – will tell you the geography of Game of Thrones is a dangerous,

Watch the 1st Trailer for Angelina Jolie’s First They Killed My Father

Netflix has released the first trailer for Angelina Jolie’s First They Killed My Father, based on the memoir of Loung Ung, who survived the Khmer Rouge’s despotic regime from 1975 to 1978 and went on to become a celebrate author and human rights activist. The nearly wordless trailer is a poetic, if haunting, look at Loung’s life as a young girl in Cambodia during an era that saw the state-sanctioned murder of millions,

The Best Line in the Thor: Ragnarok Trailer Was Written by a Make-A-Wish Kid

This gave us a lump in the throat. Entertainment Weekly published this story during Comic-Con about Thor: Ragnarokand there was a detail about how the best line in record-setting first trailer wasn’t in the script, or improvised by any of the actors, it was suggested by a young kid from the Make-a-Wish foundation who was on set that day.

Star Wars & Harry Potter Worlds Collide With new Episode IX Writer

The Star Wars franchise of the last couple years has been no stranger to hard choices and tough shakeups regarding its production team. The script for The Force Awakens was worked on for the better part of a year by Michael Arndt before a change was made. Ron Howard replaced directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller on the upcoming Han Solo movie in a highly-publicized ousting. And these are just the changes that made headlines.

Liverpool-born cinematographer Colin Watkinson quit his job as a surveyor to work as an entry-level “runner” on a British soundstage, rose through the ranks to shoot Tarsem Singh’s The Fall in 2006, and on the strength of that film’s universally hailed visuals, became one of Los Angeles’ most prolific television commercial DPs. Love or loath what you wore at the end of the millenium, you’ll definitely recognize some of these looks. Costume designer Elisabeth Vastola combed through consignment racks to revive the era in a recognizable and authentic way. Set in New York,

“My only venture at this moment is establishing control over this continent and every person on it,” Cersei says to Tycho Nestoris, the Iron Bank’s representative. Cersei is well aware that she can’t win a war against Dany without gold, and although Tycho had come to King’s Landing to collect on the Lannister’s debt, seeing a much better proposition with Dany and her dragons, Cersei convinced him to stay for a fortnight, promising that all the Lannister debts will be paid by the time he goes home.

Talking to Emmy-Nominated Ewan McGregor About Splitting Himself for his Fargo Dual Roles

For years, Ewan McGregor yearned to play a role that required complete physical transformation, but the timing couldn’t have been worse when Fargo creator Noah Hawley asked the svelte actor to grow a beer belly. “I had a jawline that you could cut paper on and I’d never been so fit in my life,” laughs McGregor, who remembers returning to Los Angeles in top physical condition after shooting “Trainspotting 2” in his native Scotland.
