Their eagerly-anticipated and almost comically mysterious Middle-earth-set fantasy series is officially titled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The title speaks to how the series will be centered on the creation of the original rings of power, which ultimately led the darkest of the dark wizards Sauron to blight Middle-earth with his particular brand of malevolent control. So yes, the big bad Sauron will loom over the new series as he did in J.R.R.
