The upcoming Han Solo stand alone movie just scored a major, major coup in nabbing Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian. First, let's us all just take a moment to appreciate that the film will even have a young Lando Calrissian. Next, let's contemplate how perfect Glover is for the role, both physically (he looks a whole lot like a young Billy Dee Williams, who himself was only 43 when he starred in
The Final Arrival Trailer Teases one of Fall’s Most Antcipated Films
We’ve written before how excited we are for Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival. After helming the thrilling, blood-soaked Sicario, Villeneuve’s turn towards a cerebral, haunting sci-fi film was just the type of unexpected transition you love from an up-and-coming director. The film premiered to rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival, and this final trailer gives us one more reason to look forward to the film’s release.
The First Logan Trailer Claws at Your Heart
There has been perhaps no finer job of casting for any superhero film that Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. While you could argue that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are perfect as Professor X and Magneto, respectively (they are), and that Jack Nicholson (and then Heath Ledger) owned the Joker (they did), the sunny, super talented Australian Jackman somehow feels like he really is the tormented Canadian mutant. And now, after 16 years of embodying Logan/Wolverine,

The action set pieces are said to be some of the best in Marvel history, and, in keeping with the Marvel formula, there's a lot of wit and humor.
Here's just a taste of what some film critics are saying about

We've been tracking all the developments in director James Mangold's Logan, the last time we'll ever see Hugh Jackman in the role of Wolverine. We've showed you these set photos, the film's awesome poster and even page two of the script. Without further ado, here's the very first glimpse at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in this brand new teaser Marvel just released, the action opens (as it seems like it must) with Blue Suede's "Hooked on a Feeling."
It's brief, with a few cool shots of unlikely allies (Yondu and Rocket, to name one), a reveal of a captured Nebula, and an awkward pep talk from Drax to Peter Quill.
Watch This Stunning, Devastating Pixar Short
Pixar animators Lou Hamou-Lhadj and Andrew Coates quietly released their short film, Borrowed Time, on Vimeo for a limited time only, just a few days ago. It's crushing. Pixar has long established itself as a studio that manages to mix the existential with the exciting, the melancholy with the mercurial. At their best, from Toy Story to Up to Wall-E, Pixar makes animated films that dont shy away from ruminating on life in all its complexity,
Milla Jovovich Returns for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
Director Paul W.S. Anderson has poured a considerable amount of creative energy into making the Resident Evil franchise a feast for the eyes, ears, and the undead who populate these films. He returns to helm the final installment of the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, in which the T-virus unleashed by the evil Umbrella corporation has finally covered the entire globe. The indestrucible Alice (Milla Jovovich) has fought the zombies,
Let Comedy Icon John Cleese Explain The Walking Dead to you
The long awaited season 7 premiere for The Walking Dead is nigh—this Sunday, October 23. While we’ve written extensively about how brutal the premiere is going to be (we interviewed actor Lennie James, who plays Morgan, and he warned us about it, then Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the homicidal Negan, went on the radio and he warned people about it), we haven’t gone back over the first six seasons for those of you who haven’t been paying attetnion.
Talking to Composer Abel Korzeniowski About Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals
When I interviewed Abel Korzeniowski in August of 2015, it was to discuss his work on the small screen, specifically Penny Dreadful. Yet what had drawn me to his work, long before I ever knew I’d be speaking with him, was his score for Tom Ford’s A Single Man. Lush, at turns haunting and, from beginning to end, totally gorgeous, Korzeniowski's A Single Man score became a major part of my listening rotation.
Showtime Releases Twin Peaks Revival Featurette
There's been much to celebrate on TV already this fall, including HBO's sci-fi western epic Westworld and it's new comedy series from Issa Rae, Insecure, to Netflix's Stranger Things and Luke Cage, Fox's Pitch and ABC's Designated Survivor. We love bold, new original work as much as the next TV lover. With that said, we're also huge, huge fans of one particular project;
Modern Technology Meets the Spanish Inquisition in new Assassin’s Creed Trailer
We've been excited about Assassin's Creed for a while now. When we shared with you the historic free fall pulled off by Michael Fassbender's stunt double, one of the highest free falls in almost 35 years, you seemed just as excited as we did. That feat was pulled off by stunt perofrmer Damien Walters, one of the best in the business. Director Justin Kurzel (Macbeth,
Ben Affleck’s The Batman to Begin Shooting in 2017
While we're still waiting to find out exactly when Warner Bros. plans on releasing Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie that might be called The Batman, they at least seems fairly close to choosing when the film will start shooting. Joe Manganiello, who’ll play the film's main villain Deathstroke, told Entertainment Tonight that the film starts shooting in spring of 2017. Considering the the average time from principal photography to a wide release for Warner Bros.
Alec Baldwin is a Baby, and a Boss, in The Boss Baby
We'll take Alec Baldwin where we can get him. We got so used to having him on the small screen during his incredible run on 30 Rock that we didn't realize how good of a thing we had until the show was over and Baldwin was gone. Now he's back, currently crushing it playing Donald J. Trump on SNL, and, on the book screen, he's playing another kind of tyrant, a baby one,
Looks Like a Spider-Man Sequel is Happening
The level of excitement generated from Tom Holland's small but potent turn as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War proved how well the casting job was. Holland was perfect in Civil War as the young Peter Parker, equal parts superhero and excitable teenager. Now word is out that Sony is already planning on a sequel to the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, which just recently wrapped shooting in New York City and doesn't debut until next summer.
From Storyboard to Animation: See how Pixar Created Toy Story 2
Storyboards are an essential part of the filmmaking process, and perhaps no studio on the planet relies on them quite the way that Pixar does. A Pixar storyboard is essentially a hand-drawn version of the movie, and helps the artists making diagram the action and the dialogue. The storyboard is basically the blueprint for the film. "Each storyboard artist receives script pages or a 'beat outline', a map of the characters' emotional changes that need to be seen through actions,"

Rowling created, all of which was hinted at in the Harry Potter universe.
Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk Drops Intense new Promo
The anticipation surrounding Ang Lee's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk is intense. The film is based on the acclaimed novel by Ben Fountain, and centers on an Iraq War hero (newcomer Joe Alwyn) who returns to the United States with other members of his squad and is sent on a victory tour by the government. One major stop is a professional football game in Dallas, where the squad makes a guest appearance during the halftime show.
Darren Fung on Scoring The Great Human Odyssey
Composer Darren Fung’s sweeping score for PBS’ The Great Human Odyssey earned him a Canadian Screen Award for best music, but he almost didn’t take the project on. When anthropologist Dr. Niobe Thompson first approached Fung about the job, the response was unsure. “In all honesty, I kind of thought when Niobe had his vision of what the music was going to be, he couldn’t afford it,” Fung remembered.
