Welcome to Droid School in new Star Wars: The Last Jedi Featurette

Who are you going to call if you’ve got to train a bunch of people on how to be proper droids? There is one name, and one name only, that should spring to mind—Anthony Daniels, the man behind the golden mask (and neck, and entire body) of C-3P0.

In this new Star Wars: The Last Jedi featurette, Daniels leads us on a brief tour of his “Droid School,” where he taught actors coming onboard The Last Jedi how to embody a droid and bring out its’ particular encoded soul.

Watch the Making of a Chewbacca Mask Using Stuart Freeborn’s Original, Brilliant Design

The late Stuart Freeborn was a giant in the make-up artist realm, considered by many to the one of the originators of make-up design as we know it today. His long, incredible career touched some of the biggest films in history, including Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (he created the incredible “Dawn of Man” sequence, which gave poetic beauty to the transformation of apes into homo sapiens), as well as Kubrick’s Dr.

Mark Hamill Invented a Brutal Backstory for Luke to Prep for The Last Jedi

Luke Skywalker was MIA throughout The Force Awakens until the very end, but clearly a great deal has happened to him since Return of the Jedi. We learned more about Leia and Han, who went on to have Ben, better known as Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), who went from studying under Luke to becoming at least one of the reasons Luke went into exile. Ben/Ren’s plunge into the Dark Side was likely one reason Luke and Leia,

Latest Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Teaser Hints at Monstrous Hybrid Dinosaur

Yesterday we shared this Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom teaser with you, which showed what appeared to be the titular event that spooks the dinosaurs (never a good thing) into an island-wide revolt. Today’s teaser, another little morsel as we count down until the full trailer dropping on Thursday, shows Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) petting a sleeping T-Rex. At least it looks like a T-Rex. In Jurassic World, we were introduced to the Indominus Rex,

I, Tonya Director Craig Gillepsie on Revisiting the Second Most Surreal Sports-Related Crime in the ’90s

Back in 1994, when  tabloid TV shows such as “Hard Copy” and “Inside Edition” became the rage and CNN fed the public’s hunger for 24-hour news coverage, two crime-related stories revolving around sports figures would provide ample sustenance. One involved the arrest of football hero O.J. Simpson for the lurid murders of wife Nicole and Ron Goldman. The other was a good vs. evil  scenario that pitted skating princess Nancy Kerrigan against the less-polished, more athletic Tonya Harding.

Watch the Training that Went Into Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s Fight Scenes

From the moment we met Daisy Ridley’s Rey in The Force Awakens, she was already one tough cookie. We watched her repel deep into a ruined a Star Destroyer, fight off some First Order goons with her staff and generally hold herself in such a way where you never questioned how tough she was. And this was before it became clear she had some serious abilities that even she didn’t know about.

No matter how hard humans try to control their dino creations, whether by locking them in pens or designing them in labs, life, which always brings death, finds a way. Jurassic World ended with our hero,
