Deadpool Teaser, Revisiting David Bowie’s Underappreciated Roles & More

Here's what we're reading on Tuesday, January 12, 2016:

The world continues to mourn the passing of David Bowie. We suggest listening to his last album, "Blackstar," all the way through. It's devastating. Here's Variety's Steven Gaydos deconstructing Bowie's filmography. One of those films is Labyrinth, a collaboration between three singular talents; The Muppets creator Jim Henson, George Lucas, and Bowie.

Speaking of Bowie's filmography,

The Ratter Trailer Depicts Your Worst Tech Nightmare

Sony Pictures dropped the first trailer for Ratter, a nasty little piece of business that takes our dependency on technology and makes it terminal. Ratter stars Pretty Little Liars' Ashley Benson as a graduate student living in her first New York apartment (don't dwell on the fact the apartment looks incredible and would cost an ungodly sum), loving the city and her new life, until a stalker uses all the technology that keeps her connected to the world to terrorize her.

The Walking Dead Drops Midseason Premiere Trailer

For us The Walking Dead fans, we've still got a bit of a slog until we get to the midseason premiere, which airs on Feburary 14. Until then, you can satiate your appetite for brains and blood and Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) Mad Hatter-like leadership over the citizens of Alexandria. If the midseason trailer is any indication, things are about to get even bleaker for the little burb in the midst of a zombie hellscape.

Bigger is Better in the new Deadpool IMAX Promo & Poster

The 12 Days of Deadpool ends with a new trailer on Christmas Day, and here on day 10, Century Fox has revealed the official IMAX poster and promo for the Merch with the Mouth's upcoming film. Starring Ryan Reynolds as the fourth wall breaking, genetically modified titular star, Deadpool has let Fox flex their social media and buzz generating muscle by making the most of their R-rated superhero flick. From their slightly insane Halloween video to the decision to allow Deadpool break the fourth wall and address the viewer directly, the studio has embraced the unusual Marvel source material (Tony Stark likes to quip,

Enter The Forest in 360 Degree Immersive Experience

So here's an entirely unsuitable way to end your year and enjoy the holiday season—an immersive 360 degree sight and sound experience, based on the upcoming film The Forest, that plunges you into the heart of Aokigahara, a real, and very depressing, forest at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. The experience uses real images taken at Aokigahara, and was designed to be best enjoyed (or rather, experienced with a creeping sense of dread) using Google Cardboard and your phone.

New Footage in Batman v Superman International TV Spot

In this international TV spot for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the new footage is mainly the two titular superheroes beating the crap out of each other. Now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has premiered, this is the next "big" film that fans are going to salivate over. It also represents the first time these two legendary characters face off on-screen. In fact, 2016 is the year of superhero v superhero battles; let's not forget about Marvel’sCaptain America: Civil War.

See Tina Fey in the First Trailer for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

With Tina Fey's latest film, Sisters, opening against a tiny, obscure indie called Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Paramount has decided to pour it on with the first trailer for another one of her projects, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Based on the book "The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days In Afghanistan And Pakistan" by Kim Barker, Fey plays Baker as reporter at ProPublica (she was also the South Asia bureau chief for The Chicago Tribune from 2004 to 2009) who finds herself in Afghanistan and Pakistan,

F.U. in 2016: The Eerily Realistic House of Cards Season 4 Promo

Did you watch last night's Republican presidential debate? Do you ever find yourself remarking how similar politics are to high school? Do you find political ads cheesy, manipulative, and depressing? Then you're going to love House of Cards promo for season 4, which nails all of these things in one 30 second spot. It's pretty perfect that this Netflix juggernaut's fourth season comes right in the midst of a presidential election, and it's not for nothing that Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey)'s campaign slogan is "F.U.

J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Debuts Trailer

As select journalists left a screening for Star Wars: The Force Awakens last night (they're not allowed to say a peep about the film until it opens), they were greeted with the news that Warner Bros. had slipped in a brand new trailer for their most anticipated film of 2016, the J.K. Rowling scripted Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Watch Captain America: Civil War‘s International Trailer

A few new shots can be found in the new Captain America: Civil War trailer that was just released. Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) are back to direct the first film of Marvel’s Phase Three, picking up the action where Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron left off.  It seems the world at large is tired of the collateral damage that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers-lead Avengers keeps causing—let us not forget why Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) had to invent the Hulkbuster in the first place. In Civil War,

The First Independence Day: Resurgence Trailer has Landed

After 20-years since the last alien attack in the original Independence Day (not counting the alien attacks in The Avengers, Man of Steel, or any other of the countless films in which the planet has been plundered by space invaders), the bad boys from outer space are back in Independence Day: Resurgence.

Since the 1996, July 4th attack, the United Nations created the Earth Space Defense Program to serve as an early warning detection system in the case of another attack.

Behold the First X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer

"I saw the end of the world. I could feel all this death." This comes from the young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), who tells this vision to Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). "Jean," Charles says, "it was just a dream." Um, Charles, you do remember that one Jean Gray is an "Omega-level" mutant, right? Let's assume she doesn't just have pointless dreams, okay? Also, the film's subtitle is Apocalypse.
