Every Captain America Part II: 1970 to 1980

Yesterday we shared part I of Marvel's "Ever Captain America ever" video series, which showed Cap's changing looks and politics from his creation in 1941 during World War II to 1964. The series shows all the iterations our most patriotic Avenger has undergone, including snippets about his adventures, misadventures and his changing views on politics and the world at large. Cap has always been more complex than many readers remember.

Every Captain America Ever From 1941 to 1964—Part I

Marvel got into the holiday spirit over the 4th of the July by honoring the most patriotic of all superheroes—Captain America. Beginning with Steve Rogers first appearance in "Captain America, Comics #1" in March 1941 when the young Rogers tried to join the American effort against the Axis powers in World War II (as you probably know, Rogers failed to pass the physical requirements, but once he joined Operation: Rebirth, he'd never fail a physical test again) and taking us all the way to 1964,

The new War Dogs Trailer Highlights Insane True Story

War Dogs is based on the Rolling Stone article "Arms and the Dudes" by Guy Lawson, one of those dark, "this can't be true but it is" reports about our endless war in Afghanistan and the two 20-something year old Miami dudes who saw a business opportunity in the region. Played by Jonah Hill and Miles Teller, directed by Old School and Hangover trilogy helmer Todd Phillips,

Watch Epic Rihanna Star Trek Beyond Video for “Sledgehammer”

Earlier today we published this feautrette in which Rihanna talks about her longstanding love for the Star Trek franchise. Now, we've got something truly spectacular; behold the video for Rihanna's "Sledgehammer," the first ever shot entirely on IMAX cameras. (According to Entertainment Weekly; it should be noted Adele's "Hello" was also filmed on IMAX cameras, but presumably for only two shots.) Director Floria Sigismondi talked to EW about how much of

Star Trek Beyond Featurette: Meet Superfan Rihanna

When we published the new Star Trek Beyond trailer that featured Rihanna's new single, "Sledgehammer," some fans wondered what the two had to do with each other. Well, like so many millions of you, Rihanna's a big Star Trek fan, and her involvement in the franchise is something of a childhood dream come true. Rihanna's dad got her into the show, which she says took her one episode to fall in love with.

Sully Trailer Lands Safely: Tom Hanks is Captain Sullenberger

Academy Award winner Tom Hanks was born to play a lot of roles, from his turn as a humble but hearty lawyer in Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies to the heroic captain at the heart of Captain Phillips. In SullyHanks once again commands a role that seems tailor made for his many strengths as an actor. Teaming with another Academy Award winner in director Clint Eastwood (American Sniper,

Joshy Trailer Suggests you can Still Have a Bachelor Party Without a Wedding

Poor Joshy. His engagement is over, but that doesn't mean he and his buddies can't still blow it out for what was supposed to be his bachelor party, right? Of course. So the gang gathers in Ojai, California and try to help Joshy deal with his turn in fortune the way most dudes of a certain socioeconomic bracket do; by relying on drugs, booze, debauchery, and, of course, hot tubs.

Universal just released the official trailer for Bridget Jones's Babystarring Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, and Patrick Dempsey and directed by Sharon Maguire. This is the third installment of the romantic comedy series, and as it must, it raises the stakes in Bridget's perpetually zany life to the level of child rearing. Science Meets Mayhem in Morgan Trailer

Morgan takes a conceit last explored in 2015's excellent Ex Machina and melds it with 2014's Lucy. What if a biosynthetic being (a little like Ex Machina's Ava) was kept in a remote, top-secret location (a lot like Ex Machina) but was still in the process of evolving into a more potent,

Watch Epic new Star Trek Beyond Trailer Featuring Rihanna’s “Sledgehammer”

Here's a great way to start your week; Star Trek Beyond has dropped a new trailer that includes Rihanna's sensational new song "Sledgehammer." It's a small ray of sunshine after a terrible week for Star Trek fans and Anton Yelchin fans in general; the young star, who enlivened the role of Chekov in the two previous Star Trek films, died tragically last week.

The trailer shows some new footage,

Peek Inside The Magical Briefcase in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

"My heroes are always people who feel themselves to be set apart, stigmatized, or othered," says J.K. Rowling at the beginning of this Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them featurette. "That's at the heart of most of what I write. That's certainly at the heart of this movie." If there ever was a more apt time for such a spirit to imbue a major motion picture like Fantastic Beasts, now's that time.

New Trailer for Oscar Contender The Birth of a Nation

Fox Searchlight has released a new trailer for this year's Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner The Birth of a Nation. Writer/director and star Nate Parker's 7-year labor of love left this year's Sundance with the two top prizes, a record-setting deal with Fox Searchlight, and a ton of momentum carrying it towards a potential big haul come awards season. Parker's passionate epic about Nat Turner's slave rebellion in Virginia in 1831 required the star himself to take two years off his own acting schedule and plunge $100,000 of his own money to get the film into production.

The Moment of the Attack in The Shallows‘ New Clip

We've been loving the woman vs. great white angle in Jaume Collet-Serra's minimalist thriller The Shallows ever since we saw the first trailer. Like Open Water before it, The Shallows promises thrills within (and because of) it's simple premise; Blake Lively's character Nancy isn't marooned out to sea, she's just 200 yards from the beach when she's attacked by a great white. Yet that 200 yards might as well be 200 miles,

Andy Samberg Delivers Your Baby in Storks

There’s a new family movie about delivering babies, which is less strange than it sounds.

Warner Bros. Pictures delivered the second trailer today for Storks, the upcoming animated movie that's literally about the journey of a bird named Junior (voiced by Andy Samberg, which is impossible to ignore) tasked with delivering a baby to its parents. The only problem is that delivering babies is sort of a dying career for the storks,

New Jason Bourne TV Spot Hints at Major Plot Reveals

Poor Jason Bourne. It's been twelve years since the amnesiac assassin risked it all (again) to unlock the secrets of his past in The Bourne Ultimatum, yet whatever has happened in the intervening years hasn't left him in a happy place. In the new Jason Bourne spot, we find a man who looks as rough and ruined as ever.

'Ruined' might not be a fair assessment,

4 New Ghostbusters Spots Include Roasting one Giant Marshmallow

It's probably not an overstatement that this new Ghostbusters TV spot begins with the text, "The symbol that defined a generation." That symbol, of course, was this classic:

When Paul Feig and co-writer Kate Dippold got together to write the new film, they knew there were several elements from the original that were just about required; that classic Ghostbusters logo, proton packs, the Ecto-1,

New Independence Day: Resurgence Clip Features Fan Fave Dr. Okun

Another day, another Independence Day: Resurgence clip. This time, Independence Day fan favorite Brent Spiner is the featured player, showing off his powerful (we think) laser. Spiner fans love him for playing Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Dr. Brackish Okun in Independence Day. The only thing is, fans were certain that Dr. Okun bit the dust in the original film.

For the uninitiated,
