Rey Rocks the Double-Edged Lightsaber in New Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Spot

Look, we get it. There’s been a ton of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker promo material coming your way. What did you expect? The most iconic film franchise in history is about to wrap up a saga that began 42-years ago, of course they’re going to flood the zone with TV spots. While most of the spots contain remixed footage we’ve previously seen, each one does offer a glimpse at something new. In the case of this one, entitled “Forever,” that’s a new look at Rey (Daisy Ridley) and her double-edged lightsaber.

With the battle between the Resistance and the First Order drawing to a close, you can be sure that it will include a lightsaber duel for the ages between Rey and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). You can be really, really sure. While we don’t know if Rey brings this beastly double-edged beauty to that battle or another, at least we know she’s got it. The Resistance will need all the help they can get, including cool new lightsabers, if they’re going to beat the First Order.

Check out the new spot here. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters everywhere on December 20, 2019.
