The name of the game in The Shallows is self reliance. Ralph Waldo Emerson himself would likely agree that Nancy (Blake Lively) is the epitome of it. A strong, smart and resilient young woman who will need to summon everything she has to survive her predicament. This new trailer focuses on the film's central, intriguingly simple premise; Nancy is out surfing when she's separated from the beach (which is not more than 200 yards away) by a great white.
