New Spider-Man: Far From Home Images & Footage Tease Ambitious Final Film in Marvel’s Phase 3

There are a few things we’ve learned about Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Far From Home that speaks to how this film is a lot more than just the chaser to Avengers: Endgame‘s very strong shot. One is the fact that it deals directly (spoiler alert for those of you who haven’t seen Endgame) with Tony Stark’s death. The second is that Far From Home teases out the repercussions of Endgame‘s time-traveling madness by introducing the multiverse. It’s from another version of Earth that Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio arrives on the scene in Europe to help Peter Parker (Tom Holland) deal with a brand new threat. Finally, all the footage we’ve seen thus far speaks to a very ambitious film, which makes sense considering Far From Home is officially the final installment in Marvel’s Phase 3.

Now we’ve got a new TV spot with some fresh footage, plus a boatload of new images. In the new spot, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) are trying to get Peter Parker to step into his new role as a proper Avenger. Peter’s understandably still shaken from the events in Endgame and the loss of his mentor. Check it out:

Now onto the images. These include new looks at Mysterio, Nick Fury doing his Nick Fury thing (popping up unexpectedly and demanding this or that superhero take action), and Peter’s friends Michelle (Zendaya), Betty (Angourie Rice) and, Ned Jacob Batalon), who all get mixed up in Spider-Man’s adventures abroad.

Spider-Man: Far From Home opens on July 2, 2019.
