Godzilla Is The Size of a Mountain in New King of the Monsters TV Spot

There is no longer any wonder as to what lies beneath. Bursting from below ground, monsters, allies, and enemies surface in the latest TV spot for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. These ancient beasts will not quietly crawl out of the ocean. They are determined to make a much more dramatic entrance.

The 2014 Godzilla was a bit of a slow burn with MUTOs nesting underground. Of course, the action eventually exploded around San Francisco, but it appears that Godzilla will not wait so long to face his foes in King of the Monsters.

Claws, scales, and sharp teeth burst from the Earth in the teaser. Their sheer power gives us a scale as to how large these monsters actually are. One of the beasts, who we suspect is Rodan, erupts from the ground eclipsing and disrupting the oil drills on the surface.

The next shot looks like a peaceful and scenic mountain view, but some of those peaks resemble scales. As Godzilla awakens, the entire mountain comes to life and reveals the giant lizard’s eye.

These occurrences are no big deal in remote areas, but the chaos soon spreads into cities and widespread chaos ensues. In flight and on land, the creatures begin to clash. Mothra and Rodan soar directly toward each other as Godzilla takes on the three-headed King Ghidorah.

Millie Bobby Brown and Vera Farmiga, two goddesses, both make appearances, but nature takes its course. The conflict is clearly out of the hands of humans and the monsters are definitely going to take center stage here.

Seeing the size and scale of these match-ups make it difficult to imagine it could escalate, but Godzilla vs. Kong will see the ancient lizard in battle once more. One thing is certain – he will be weary after proving his dominance against three apt rivals.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters proves his reign on May 31.
