Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘s Claire Dearing Wants you to Adopt a Dinosaur

Are you more of a herbivore lover, or do you prefer dinosaurs with fangs and a taste for meat? Do you like a lumbering, gentle giant, or a fleet-footed killer? If you’re the former, perhaps you’ll want to adopt a cute (if a little long in the hoof) 17-year old ankylosaurus, a peaceful herbivore with an impressively spiked, shelled back. The baryonyx, on the other hand, has a serious set of fangs, and prefers eating fish. Plus, she’s only 8 years old! Or perhaps you’re more of an Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) type, and like your dinosaurs blazingly fast and vicious. In that case, there’s a 7 year old velociraptor named “Blue,” who you may remember from Jurassic World, as Owen’s favorite (and also his savior). There’s plenty of potential adoptees for you to choose, including a giant, gentle brachiosaurus, a meat-eating carnotaurus, and a few apex predators—the aquatic mosasaurus (another savior from Jurassic World) and, of course, the franchise’s marquee dinosaur, the T-Rex. “Every dinosaur is at risk and the clock is ticking towards disaster. Show your commitment to getting them off Isla Nublar with a symbolic adoption.” This is the boilerplate you’ll find upon visiting AdoptADino.com.

In a new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom spot, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), the founder of the Dinosaur Protection Group, urges you to visit AdoptADino.com and symbolically adopt one of these beautiful beasts. This is because their home, Isla Nublar, is about to be destroyed by a volcano. What’s worse, Fallen Kingdom sees humans (always the humans!) once again trying to use dinosaurs to their nefarious ends. The film’s premise finds both Claire and Owen back on Isla Nublar, ostensibly to rescue dinosaurs before the aforementioned volcanic apocalypse. As the final trailer revealed, however, the two only think they’ve been called back to Isla Nublar to help find Owen’s best buddy velociraptor, Blue, and her dino friends. Owen and Claire embark on a mission to save Blue and the rest of the dinosaurs on the soon-to-be destroyed tropical paradise, but ultimately uncover a massive conspiracy that involves weaponizing the dinosaurs and bringing them back to the mainland.

Check out the “Adopt a Dino” spot below.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens on June 22.
