Here’s the First Trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories

Children in danger. Children becoming heroes and facing danger. Families in peril, and families coming together. Inexplicable supernatural and alien events. This and more is in store for viewers in one of the most intriguing new TV series to launch this year. We’re talking about Steven Spielberg‘s Amazing Stories. Apple TV+ has revealed the first trailer for Spielberg’s reboot of the classic sci-fi/fantasy anthology series, which is executive produced by the master himself. The writing team of Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (Lost, Once Upon a Time) are serving as showrunners. Amazing Stories plans to wow audiences on Apple TV+ on March 6. Now you can get your first glimpse and see what the hype is about.

There are strong Spielbergian notes being hit in this trailer—helped by actual notes from master composer John Williams—with a stellar list of directors bringing off each episode. Those directors include Susanna Fogel (The Spy Who Dumped Me), Sylvain White (The Rookie), Mark Mylod (Game of Thrones), Michael Dinner (Sneaky Pete), and Chris Long (The Americans). Your cast includes Josh Holloway (Lost), Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House), and Robert Forster (Breaking Bad). There’s a retro vibe to the stories here, a little bit Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a little bit Stranger Things, and a whole lot of action.

From the opening shot of a little boy eerily backlit by an open door (vintage Spielberg) to a grandpa revealing that he’s sort of a superhero, Amazing Stories looks like the kind of series the whole family can get behind. There will be five episodes in the first season, which, again, begin streaming on March 6.
