First “Wicked: For Good” Trailer Shows Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Witches in Heart-Wrenching Final Chapter
At long last, we have the first footage from director Jon M. Chu’s Wicked: For Good, the second part of his two-part adaptation of the juggernaut Broadway musical, which itself was based on Gregory Maguire’s best-selling novel. This is our first glimpse at the sequel after Chu and his stars, Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, and Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, took to the stage at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace to unveil the footage at CinemaCon this past April.

Director Jon M. Chu took to the stage in Las Vegas to cast a spell over theater owners at this year’s CinemaCon by sharing footage from Universal’s hotly-anticipated sequel Wicked: For Good, the second part of Chu’s two-part adaptation of the Broadway musical, which itself was based on Gregory Maguire’s best-selling novel.

“Wicked: Part Two” Gets Official New Title Ahead of 2025 Release
The title for the sequel to director Jon M. Chu’s critical and commercial smash hit Wicked is no longer Wicked: Part Two. Universal announced yesterday that the second half of the two-parter is now called Wicked: For Good.
The change is a nod toward a highly anticipated upcoming duet between the movie’s two stars, Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Ariana Grande’s Glinda, in a tune that references their increasingly complex relationship.
