Disney+ Reveals WandaVision, Loki, & Falcon and the Winter Soldier in Super Bowl Spot

The Super Bowl is always a rich fount for brand new trailers and big reveals for upcoming films and television series. When you have that many eyeballs glued to the same channel for three-plus hours, there’s simply no better opportunity for a studio to fire viewers up. In last night’s deeply satisfying clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, Disney+ revealed three of their highly anticipated upcoming Marvel series. Their big game spot revealed our first look at Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki.

Sure, it’s only 30-seconds long, but when you haven’t seen a single frame, 30-seconds is plenty of time to get you excited. Here’s Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) taking over the shield from Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame. We see the return of Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) and some of Loki (Tom Hiddleston)’s signature petulance in our first look at Loki. And finally, in what is a truly intriguing departure from any other Marvel show, WandaVision reveals a bizarre look at a domestic sitcom/superhero mashup.

Here’s the official synopsis for Falcon and the Winter Soldier:

Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer. Debuts on Disney+ this fall.

Here’s the official synopsis for WandaVision:

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer. Debuts on Disney+ this year.

Here’s the official synopsis for Loki:

In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer. Debuts on Disney+ next year—2021.
