Chris Evans Leads Excellent Cast in Netflix’s The Red Sea Diving Resort

Now that Chris Evans has officially handed off his shield as Captain America, we’ll be seeing him in fresh roles in new films. We’ve already gotten a peak at one of his upcoming projects, Rian Johnson’s murder mystery ensemble film Knives OutThat movie looks like an absolute hoot. Now a new trailer from Netflix reveals another of Evans’ upcoming movies, The Red Sea Diving Resort. Inspired by a true story, the story follows a multinational group of agents and regular heroes trying to smuggle Ethiopian refugees to Israel via a deserted retreat in Sudan. Evans is part of another excellent ensemble here. He joins Michael Kenneth Williams, Haley Bennett, Alessandro Nivola, Michiel Huisman, Chris Chalk, Greg Kinnear, and Ben Kingsley.

The Red Sea Diving Resort comes from writer/director Gideon Raff (Homeland). Evans plays Ari Kidron, an agent helping this international team liaison with the local Kabede Bimro (Michael Kenneth Williams). The actual mission the film is based on was only declassified a few years ago. The Mossad agents who were operating in Sudan came upon the hotel as the potentially perfect way to continue their operations in the country without drawing suspicion. The Red Sea Diving Resort doesn’t only boast the great central cast but includes actors from the Ethiopian community. “These are not just incredible actors who are participating in a movie,” Raff said.  “These are people telling the story of their lives.”
