Rocket Suits up in new Avengers: Endgame Spot

Have you heard about this little movie coming out on April 26? It includes a feisty, weaponry-loving space raccoon and a bunch of superheroes banding together to fight a sociopathic purple alien and resurrect their dead friends and a few billion other people. Not ringing any bells? Well, it’s called Avengers: Endgame and comes from a scrappy little studio named Marvel. Scarlett Johansson’s in it. So is Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans. Still nothing? Okay, check out this new spot which might jog your memory:

Of course you know all about Avengers: Endgame. The Russo Brothers’ upcoming mega-movie is very possibly going to break all box office records when it bows.

“You know your teams, you know your missions. No mistakes. No do-overs. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives.”

This comes from Captain America (Chris Evans) and gives us, possibly, a hint about Endgame‘s plot. He mentions “teams” here, which leads us to believe that once again the Avengers will be splitting up to take on Thanos. This was also their move in Infinity War, and that didn’t work out so well. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) went off to try and save Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), ended up meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy, and took the fight to Thanos on the planet Titan. Meanwhile, the rest of the Avengers, lead by Captain America, fought a war in Wakanda. With their forces split up, the Avengers lost—badly.

So what are we to make of this new spot? There’s a good chance Marvel is once again giving us a bit of misdirection here. What we do get is a nice little shot of Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) all ready to go in his little Avengers suit, which is pretty great. He’s inspired by Captain America’s pep talk. We’ll know soon enough what Cap’s actual plan for defeating Thanos is. It’ll likely require the best efforts from another, even stronger Captain.

Avengers: Endgame opens wide on April 26.
