Go Higher, Further, Faster in Captain Marvel Super Bowl TV Spot

Higher. Further. Faster. This is the mantra we hear in the new Captain Marvel spot that aired during the Super Bowl, which was much more entertaining than the game. This a quick, thrilling 30-second adrenalin shot, showcasing Carol Danvers (Brie Larson)’s skills both in the cockpit of a fighter jet and in the full flower of her superhero persona, Captain Marvel. The only thing missing is Goose.

The spot begins with Carol Danvers in her Air Force gear, heading to her plane with her fellow fighter pilot Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch). Maria wants to know if she’s ready to show these boys how they do it. Carol drops her catchphrase:  “higher, further, faster”—which is then used as the trailer’s warcry. We see Carol skills in the cockpit (eat your heart out, Maverick), until Carol’s mid-air battles in her jet morph into Captain Marvel’s cosmic space battles. Jude Law as Mar-Vell is here, and so is a closer look at Captain Marvel’s seriously awesome mohawk look.

How good is Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel? So good she makes the usually reticent Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) shout with joy.

Captain Marvel is the first big Marvel film this year, and the first official film of Phase 4. We got a brief glimpse of her famous logo at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, when Fury sent her a desperate SOS—via beeper. With Avengers: Endgame coming out on April 26, we’ll get two looks at Captain Marvel within two months. Her standalone film (as much as any Marvel film can be) takes place in the 1990s and zooms into theaters on March 8.
