Groot Sasses and T’Challa Inspires in New Avengers: Infinity War Teaser

The Avengers are our only hope to save the universe. If a heavily armed group of mutants, aliens, superheroes, super minds, and gods can’t stop Thanos (Josh Brolin), who can? And yet, success is not guaranteed. A new Avengers: Infinity War spot threatens that loss is inevitable—we already know for sure one of our favorites won’t be back after Avengers 4. But will the loss come in the battle or the war?

Everyone has been assembledsave Hawkeye. New heroes from Wakanda and an old nemesis from Asgard have all joined forces to stop one super evil. Thanos, however, warns that it will not be enough. “The end is near,” he warns.

The filmmakers capitalize on Black Panther’s historic box office success by featuring a wise T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) in the teaser. He delivers a two-sentence speech that gives us chills. “Today we don’t fight for one life,” he says. “We fight for all of them.” Seriously? Where have you been for the last ten years, T’Challa? Let’s do this thing!

Not all is doom and gloom, however. Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) has a plan to leverage the remaining stones to fight Thanos. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) isn’t fully on board, which makes for some comical tension. That isn’t his toughest battle, however. A teenage Groot is laying on the attitude with some foul language. Personally, I am not fluent in Groot so I’m not sure what he said. Judging by everyone’s reaction, it was not appropriate.

Everyone from Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is bringing out their strongest powers. If this trailer is any indication, they will have to go all in or all will be lost.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27.
