Watch new Footage From Independence Day: Resurgence

It was just yesterday we introduced you to the space tug used by Liam Hemsworth’s character, ESD Pilot Jake Morrison, in Independence Day: Resurgence. Now 20th Century Fox has dropped some new footage into this featurette about director Roland Emmerich. The stars of the film, including Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum, discuss just how big Emmerich likes to go in his films (he practically re-invented the summer blockbuster spectacle with the original Independence Day), and amidst their praise for a director who knows how to end the world in his films, you can glimpse some brand new footage, including a look at the alien attackers, a massive dogfight, and some major trouble in the ocean.

Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters on June 24.

The film's boilerplate: The next epic chapter delivers global catastrophe on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
