Introducing the Statesmen in new Kingsman: The Golden Circle Featurette

Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service introduced moviegoers to the Kingsman – a snappily dressed, cleverly concealed international intelligence agency that makes James Bond’s MI6 or America’s CIA look like mere spy hobbyists. With their HQ hidden within a Saville Row tailor, the super spies, led by Merlin (Mark Strong), Harry Hart (Colin Firth) and newcomers Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Roxy (Sophie Cookson) managed to not only save the world in the original film, but to do so with style and panache.

In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes can no longer go it alone. Faced with an enemy that has destroyed Kingsman HQ (all those beautiful suits and their lethal acoutrements!) and taken the world hostage, our British agents discover there’s an organization in America that could be of service—the Statesman. The two agencies must come together to defeat a ruthless common enemy (Julianne Moore’s Poppy), in order to save the world.

In a new featurette, 20th Century Fox introduces us to the Statesmen, and, to their beverage of choice—Old Forester bourbon, considered the first bottled bourbon in America.

The Golden Circle was written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman, and the series itself is based on the comic book "The Secret Service" by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. The Golden Circle returns Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, and Sophie Cookson and teams them with Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Sir Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges. It will arrive in theaters on September 22.
