See how they Filmed the Fight Scene Between Captain America and the Winter Soldier

There were a lot of big, bruising brawls in Captain America: Civil War, but none are more personal than when Cap fights his best friend (of 80 years!) the Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes. In this behind-the-scenes clip unveiled by Marvel, directors Joe and Anthony Russo show us how they built this fight early in the film.

Fight coordinator James Young explains that the key to crafting a believable, emotional fight is to remember that these brawls need to be "character moments." "They're not fighting just for the hell of fighting," Young says, "there's a lot of story coming into these fights." Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan did a lot of their own stunts for the hand-to-hand combat, which gives the Russo Brothers a lot more leeway to film the scenes—for example, they don't have to try and hide their faces as they brawl with camera movements.

Check out the fight, and pay special attention to the incredible wire work that was used to make the fight sequence in Bucky's apartment, which included about a dozen German special forces agents, and how elegantly it was choreographed.
