The new War Dogs Trailer Highlights Insane True Story

War Dogs is based on the Rolling Stone article "Arms and the Dudes" by Guy Lawson, one of those dark, "this can't be true but it is" reports about our endless war in Afghanistan and the two 20-something year old Miami dudes who saw a business opportunity in the region. Played by Jonah Hill and Miles Teller, directed by Old School and Hangover trilogy helmer Todd Phillips, War Dogs follows these two opportunistic buddies as they enter, and excel, in the highly dangerous business of gunrunning, exploiting a loophole that began during the Iraq war which allowed small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. The two friends start small, but soon enough the big money starts pouring in (as does increased risk). War Dogs follows them as they eventually land an insanely lucrative $300 million contract from the U.S. government to arm the floundering Afghan military, in a deal that puts them in business with some dangerous individuals and shady people, many of whom work for the U.S. Government.

Sounds juicy, right? Here's the second trailer for the film—War Dogs opens on August 19.
