We’ve published interviews with three of Avengers: Infinity War‘s incredibly talented crew today: production designer Charles Wood, VFX supervisor Kelly Port and supervising art director Raymond Chan. Now that Marvel has lifted the embargo on these behind-the-scenes profiles, we’ve been finding out just how the hugely talented crew helped directors Joe and Anthony Russo create this historic film. If you haven’t seen Infinity War yet, obviously, spoiler alert.
Our interviews revealed how these artists built the many worlds of the film, both practically and via digital effects, melded real locations, from Georgia to Brazil to Iceland, into single, cohesive new planets like Vormir, and turned the 5’10” Josh Brolin into the eight-foot-tall Mad Titan. These interviews included a fresh batch of still images, many of which focus on Brolin’s Thanos, the soulful psychopath whose search for the Infinity Stones—and his belief that the universe’s population must be culled—is what the entire mega blockbuster is built around.
Check out these new brand new images below, which all speak to Thanos’s seemingly unstoppable power, the film’s heartbreaking conclusion, and the willingness of the many superheroes (and anti-heroes, like Loki) who were willing to sacrifice themselves to stop him:
