Latest Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Teaser Hints at Monstrous Hybrid Dinosaur

Yesterday we shared this Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom teaser with you, which showed what appeared to be the titular event that spooks the dinosaurs (never a good thing) into an island-wide revolt. Today’s teaser, another little morsel as we count down until the full trailer dropping on Thursday, shows Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) petting a sleeping T-Rex. At least it looks like a T-Rex. In Jurassic World, we were introduced to the Indominus Rex, the T-Rex/velociraptor hybrid that made life so miserable for the other dinosaurs, and humans, on the island. The dinosaur Pratt’s petting may be yet another hybrid, considering Jurassic World director and Fallen Kingdom co-writer Colin Trevorrow tweeted out the trailer with the caption “More teeth,” which references exactly what was said about the Indominous.

This teaser mimics the very first, which showed Grady petting a baby dinosaur. Perhaps this big fella is baby grown up. Regardless, the dozing dino wakes up, and the eye contact it makes with Grady suggests it might be considering him breakfast.

Here’s the official synopsis (so far, at least) for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which is due in theaters on June 22, 2018.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful franchises in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs — along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
