Billie Eilish Wrote & Will Perform the Theme Song for 25th Bond Film No Time to Die

The 25th Bond film has found its theme song artist. Billie Eilish is the latest superstar to write and perform the theme song for the venerable super spy franchise’s 25th installment No Time To Die, following the likes of Adele (Skyfall), Shirley Bassey (Goldfinger), Paul McCartney (Live and Let Die), Carly Simon (The Spy Who Loved Me), and Nancy Sinatra (You Only Live Twice).

Eilish made it official on Twitter:

While we’re a ways away from hearing Eilish’s song, her involvement in No Time to Die only adds to our excitement.

And what about the film itself? You’ve seen the first trailer for No Time to Die. Maybe a few times. The excitement surrounding this Bond film is partly due to knowing Daniel Craig’s excellent portrayal of MI6’s super spy is coming to a close. There’s also the excitement surrounding his partnership (and likely quarrel with) Latasha Lynch’s Nomi, a new 00 agent who has risen in the ranks since we last left Bond at the end of Spectre.

Lynch’s isn’t the only new face in No Time to Die. One of them is not so easy to look at. That would belong to Rami Malek’s villain Safin, who has burn marks (we think) covering most of his mug. This explains his penchant for wearing a mask. Then there’s Ana de Armas’s Paloma, who will figure into the plot when the action moves to Cuba.

We learned from the trailer that Bond’s Caribbean retirement was, of course, short-lived. He must leave his Jamaican idyll and re-enter the workforce (so to speak) to deal with a new threat. As always in the world of Bond, old allies like Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) might not be who they seem, while old enemies like Blofeld (Christoph Waltz) never miss an opportunity to try and meddle in world affairs.

No Time to Die will hit theaters on April 10, 2020.
