Two Characters We Love Could Be Reuniting in Marvel Streaming Series

We may have reached the end of some of the Avengers’ stories, but that does not mean we have seen their whole story. Avengers: Infinity War was, needless to say, a shock. We came so far and fought so long alongside characters that were suddenly gone. Among the most devastating losses was Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) who was willing to sacrifice so much in vain. Luckily, that TV series on Disney+ starring the heroine has been confirmed and there may be more good news.

Surely, you’ve seen Infinity War by now, but if not, spoilers ahead.

Moments before her own death, Scarlet Witch saw her great love killed then was unsuccessful in thwarting Thanos, despite being one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU. It is uncertain if we will ever see her again, and more unlikely Vision (Paul Bettany) will ever return. However, the lovers may be reunited. Deadline slipped in a mention to a larger story about female superhero projects that implied Vision might be joining the streaming series.

We do not have a lot of details about the new project or how it will fit into the larger MCU. Few things in entertainment are more difficult, or more intriguing, than a movie series cliffhanger. Marvel is demonstrating right now just how alluring and tricky these can be. We were all left in the pit of despair as half of our favorite characters dissipated into thin air and there was nothing we could do about it. Things have to keep moving, but what is the way forward when we’re still waiting for the other snap to sound? Likely, things won’t become clear until after Avengers 4. This will likely resolve whether or not there is a chance Vision and Scarlet Witch could be resurrected, or if the series will be a prequel.

We are still holding out hope that some combination of Infinity Stones will rescue some of our fallen heroes. That would solve the problem with Scarlet Witch’s demise. Also, Vision is an android, so there are plenty of creative options to bring his character back. No such luck for Loki, however. The Infinity War casualty will also have a streaming series on Disney+, but the Russo Brothers have sealed his fate for good.

Avengers 4 opens in theaters May 4.
