Watch Daniels Phone Home in new Alien: Covenant Teaser

The early buzz for Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant is very, very good, with the film being touted as worthy of his original, terrifying vision for Alien. We've been sharing the trailersteasersfeaturettes and art that 20th Century Fox has provided, all of which has teased the nightmare coming for the folks aboard the Covenant.

In the latest video, the stakes are made plain as we watch the heartfelt message that Daniels (Katherine Waterston) sends back to her dad. Every member of the Covenant crew has devoted their life to the mission—their job is to help colonize a distant, apparently paradisiacalplanet so that future generations can arrive and enjoy a fully functioning world. These crewmembers, all couples, left their families and loved ones on Earth for good. What makes this choice so heartbreaking is that we of course know that this uncharted paradise is actually hell, and that the crew will soon become prey for the deadly xenomorphs who call that planet home.

Along with Waterston, the cast includes Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby

Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19, 2017.
