Warner Bros. Sets Release Date for Fantastic Beasts Sequel

If you’ve already devoured Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (the fastest selling book in the UK this decade) and are looking for your next wizarding world fix, there's good news from Warner Bros. today. Deadline reports the studio has locked in a release date for the sequel to the highly anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The first installment will hit theaters this November 18 and the second flick will premiere November 16, 2018.

Fans of the Harry Potter series had a bittersweet week with the release of the eighth Harry Potter story in print and news from JK Rowling, as it's going to be the last. Luckily for fans, Rowling isn’t closing the portkey on the wizarding world.

Fantastic Beasts does not directly parallel Harry Potter, but is based on required reading from the famous wizards’ time at Hogwarts. The film series will feature a new magical character, Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne.
