Stunning Concept art Reveals Batman v Superman‘s Underrated Visual Flare

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had a very dark visual palate when compared to the lighter, brighter hues we associate with Marvel films like Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man and The Avengers. This makes sense considering any film that has Batman in it will likely be darker—he's reliably our most brooding superhero, and his entire look and ethos is based on darkness.

Today, BvS concept artist Christian Lorenz Scheurer released a slew of concept art from the film, and, his own personal take on Gotham. The art reflects what we believe has been the underrated visual flare of the film. Yes, it was very dark, in tone and texture (to say nothing of the subject matter), but it was a gorgeously realized darkness, as Scheurer's work shows. You can see all his work on his website, while below, you can check out a few of our favorites.
