MPA Statement on USTR’s 2026 Special 301 Report
WASHINGTON – The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) today released its annual Special 301 Report, which reviews the global state of intellectual property protection and enforcement. The following is a statement from Motion Picture Association (MPA) Chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin:
“Our thriving creative economy depends on a vibrant film, television, and streaming industry. We support more than two million American jobs, fuel more than $202 billion in annual wages nationwide, and boast a trade surplus with every major market across the globe. Today’s report outlines opportunities for further growth – and how to seize them. The MPA thanks USTR and its interagency partners for their unwavering work to combat copyright infringement overseas, preserve intellectual property protections, and deter digital piracy worldwide.”
