
Josh Rubin
Josh Rubin is Senior Vice President of Global Strategy and Chief of Staff. In this role, he leads strategic planning, drives international government and industry engagement for the association, and ensures alignment of priorities across the organization’s global legal, content protection, policy, and communications teams. Rubin serves as a member of the senior management team and reports directly to the Chairman & CEO and Global CFO.
Rubin joined the MPA in February 2025 following nearly a decade of public service. Most recently, as Director for Indo-Pacific Affairs at the National Security Council, he led complex negotiations with officials across Asia and managed execution of the White House’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.
Before his post at the White House, Rubin was Senior Advisor to Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, where he served as traveling chief of staff during high-stakes diplomatic missions in over 30 countries. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Special Assistant in the Office of Secretary of State John Kerry. Josh has also worked on two presidential transition teams and been a lecturer at Yale University.
Rubin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Affairs from Yale University and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School.
