MPA Applauds Senate Judiciary Committee Vote on IPEC Nominee Deborah Robinson

WASHINGTON – The Senate Judiciary Committee today voted to approve President Biden’s nomination of Deborah Robinson as the next Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC). The following is a statement from Patrick Kilcur, Executive Vice President of U.S. Government Affairs at the Motion Picture Association:

“The Motion Picture Association applauds the Senate Judiciary Committee today for advancing the nomination of Deborah Robinson as the next Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC). The IPEC serves an invaluable purpose, coordinating enforcement efforts across federal agencies and amongst our trading partners.

“Congratulations to Deborah on today’s important vote. We urge the full Senate to confirm her as soon as possible, to demonstrate that the administration and Congress view the protection and enforcement of America’s intellectual property both domestically and abroad as a top priority. We look forward to working with her to protect the creative rights that support the 2.7 million American jobs and 122,000 American businesses in the film, television, and streaming industry.”
