Statement from MPAA Chairman and CEO Senator Chris Dodd on Nikki Haley’s confirmation as U.N. Ambassador

WASHINGTON – The following is a statement from Senator Chris Dodd, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, on the confirmation of Nikki Haley as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations:

“The MPAA congratulates Nikki Haley on her confirmation as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. The film and television industry serves as a cultural ambassador of American ideals to the world and a global economic powerhouse, generating $16.3 billion in exports. The U.S. Mission to the United Nations helps foster strong creative industries by protecting human rights, including the right to participate in cultural life through the enjoyment of the arts, and the protection of creators’ interests in their scientific, literary, and artistic works. The MPAA looks forward to working with Ambassador Haley and her team to promote the interests of creators around the world.”
