Statement on HR 3309, the Innovation Act

December 5, 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 05, 2013

WASHINGTON — The following is a statement from Michael O’Leary, Senior Executive Vice President, Global Policy and External Affairs:

“We applaud Chairman Goodlatte and the U.S. House of Representatives for passing H.R. 3309, the Innovation Act, which will help reduce abusive patent litigation. Strong intellectual property laws are essential to the future growth of the United States economy, and we appreciate the Judiciary Committee and the U.S. House of Representatives’ attention to the uniquely problematic issue of patent trolls. We look forward to working with the Senate as it continues its own consideration of the issue.”
