Watch Captain Marvel Kick Skrull Butt in new Clip

In just three days Captain Marvel will make her long-awaited big screen appearance. The excitement has been steadily building for Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s origin film, which stars Brie Larson as the human/Kree hybrid Carol Danvers. The 1990s setting, the fantastic cast (including a scene-stealing cat), and a bold, cosmic storyline are what the early buzz has been about. Earning major plaudits are Larson in the title role, her chemistry with Samuel L. Jackson (here a two-eyed, younger Nick Fury), Lashana Lynch’s Maria Rambeau, and Ben Mendelsohn’s villain Talos.

With the film premiering this Friday, March 8, the stars are making the rounds of press conferences, TV appearances, and red carpets. This also means a few more bits of footage will be shared during the press tour. This was the case with Brie Larson’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. Larson came bearing gifts; a new scene showing Captain Marvel fighting some seriously sour Skrulls. Larson’s Carol Danvers belongs, at least partially, to the Kree alien race. The Krees and Skrulls have had bad blood for a long time, and when the Skrulls arrive on Earth, it’ll be up to Captain Marvel and her new friends—like Nick Fury—to stop these shape-shifting goons.

The Captain Marvel clip begins at 7:14 mark in the video below. We suggest you watch the whole interview if you’ve got the time:

Some context here. Carol Danvers had her memory of her time on Earth wiped clean and was eventually made a member of the Kree race. She ultimately ends up on the elite Kree Starforce. She becomes a central figure in the middle of a galactic war between these two alien races, with Earth about to serve as the latest, and possibly last, front. Hence her fighting Skrulls both in space and down on Earth.

Captain Marvel also stars Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
