Tour the Millennium Falcon With Donald Glover in new Solo: A Star Wars Story Featurette

The Millennium Falcon is making the rounds today. Earlier, we published this look at a new Solo: A Star Wars Story TV spot that was a great spotlight for the most iconic ship in the galaxy. Now, a new featurette featuring none other than Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) himself takes you on the tour of the Corellian YT-1300f light freighter. Keep in mind, the Falcon was Lando‘s ship long before Han and Chewie made it into the most famous smuggling vessel in the galaxy.

The featurette gives you brand new information about the Falcon’s specs, much of which we’re guessing you never thought about. For example, do you know how large the living quarters are? Neither did we. The Falcon boasts a 28-square meter forward crew compartment, which is roughly the size of a very large New York City apartment. The quarters include patent leather, lighting and temperature control, a 16.1 space sound system, “buttons that light up,” floor ventilation and more. Glover makes sure you’re aware that there’s patent leather everywhere, as well as the iconic Dejarik Board, hyperdrive-rated restraints (so that you don’t smash your face on the ceiling when the pilot is evading some pesky TIE Fighters), a guest bunk and a personal entertainment center. Oh, there’s more: a full kitchen and wet bar, all your cocktail necessities, an autochef slow cooker, a “space blender” and, for booze, some vintage “Retsa Reserve.” Yes, there’s a “Wookie Cookie jar” and you’re likely now going to have that phrase stuck in your head for the remainder of the day. Enjoy.

One of the things Glover alludes to is what we were getting at in our earlier piece on the Falcon—the ship looks different in Ron Howard’s Solo because we’re seeing it before Han and Chewie beat it all to hell. Glover makes this point explicitly. The tour continues, but we’ll leave the highlights for you to see for yourself (if you were wondering whether or not the captain’s quarters had mood lighting, you’ll wonder no longer). All in all, it’s a delightful little featurette, giving us a side of the Falcon we’ve never gotten to see—a ship built not just for smuggling, but for entertaining, too.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25.
