New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Images Highlight Trailer’s Most Thrilling Moments

Still reeling from that delicious Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer? Yeah, us too. Writer/director Rian Johnson looks to have crafted something truly epic with his middle-of-the-trilogy installment, and the latest trailer highlighted the galaxy’s potent new countervailing forces; Rey (Daisy Ridley), and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Much of what’s to come is clearly riding on their shoulders, and the new trailer made it clear that while Ren has rage and power to spare, Rey’s gifts might ultimately be more game-changing. When you watched the new footage, did you not get the feeling that Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) was talking about Rey, not Ren, when he described sensing something beyond raw power, but something “truly special”?

As you parse (and parse again) the trailer, Lucasfilm and Disney have released a new batch of images that capture a lot of the stunning moments you saw, including the epic battle between Finn (John Boyega) and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) in the featured image, the troubled Luke (Mark Hamill) and his wariness at taking on Rey, and, of course, those furry alien critters the Porgs, one of whom seems to have a new friend in Chewie.

Kylo Ren’s journey, from Luke Skywalker protegé to burgeoning Sith Lord to the murderer of Han Solo, is one of the most important in the new trilogy’s.

The new trailer showcased a moment in which it looked as if General Organa was aware Kylo Ren was nearby, and preparing to possibly strike her base.

Captain Phasma looks to be a bigger part of The Last Jedi.

The Porgs seem to also have a larger role to play in The Last Jedi.

Kylo Ren has a lot of demons to wrestle.

Rey’s journey is the backbone of the new trilogy. In The Last Jedi, will she be taking the next step into becoming a true Jedi? Will she be something more?
