New Star Wars : The Last Jedi Hi-Resolution Images Tease Tense new Chapter

With the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi now inching ever closer (December 15), Disney’s starting to give us a bit more of a taste of what’s to come. They’ve calibrated the perfect equation on just how much material to dole out without giving too much away, and in their latest release, they’ve dropped some brand new, hi-resolution images that give us our clearest look at the cast, new characters and locations, and some awesome behind-the-scenes shots.

This film looks much different from J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens, thanks in large part to the fact Johnson isn’t introducing us to a new generation of Star Wars heroes and villains, but rather putting them into dangerous situations across the galaxy as he advances the story of Rey, Luke, Kylo and the rest. This is evident in the number of shots of the main characters in disparate locations. On the light side of the Force,  you’ve got Rey (Daisy Ridley) on Ahch-To, trying to coax Luke (Mark Hamill) out of exile to join the Resistance’s fight against the First Order; you’ve got Finn (John Boyega) and the newcomer Rose (Kelly Marie Tran), a Resistance mechanic, on a mission to the deluxe alien city of Canto Bight; and you have Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), suited up and ready to fly.

Over on the dark side, you’ve got a delicious shot of Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), holding a seriously sinister weapon; you have the super high-strung General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson); and you have the possibly conflicted, likely still enraged Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), one of the new generation’s most potent characters.

Check out the new hi-res images below, and check back with us as follow every new bit of The Last Jedi material until the December 15 premiere.
