Every Captain America Ever Part IV: 2000 to 2009

It's that time, folks. We've given you parts I, II, and III of Marvel's "Every Captain America Ever" series, detailing the surprisingly wild life of everyone's favorite patriot, from his creation in 1941 to 1999. In part IV, we see the origins of what created the conflict in Captain America: Civil Warwhich in the comics ended with the astonishing assassination of Steve Rogers. In 2007, it was up to Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher, to take up Cap's shield. The assassination of Steve Rogers had a massive effect on the Marvel Universe, involving Tony Stark, Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and more. Eventually, Cap's shield and uniform fall to his oldest friend, Bucky Barnes, who takes up the mantle of Captain America in 2008. But this being the wild Marvel universe, Steve Rogers' death isn't final, as we'll see by 2009…
