The Explosive New The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Trailer

Lionsgate is releasing trailers and posters in a furious run-up to the premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 on November 20. Director Francis Lawrence's final dash through the districts and towards the Capitol is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the fall, and the latest trailer is surely the most explosive yet.

"He turns the best of us against each other" Katniss says of President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in a voice over. "Stop killing for him." While we've seen much of this footage before, we've never seen it edited like this. From the terrifying mutants crawling through the tunnel towards Katniss to the split-second shot of Tigris (played by Eugenie Bondurant, who we interviewed here) at the 1:17 mark, this Mockingjay – Part 2 trailer is riveting. For those of us who haven't read the books, Lionsgate, Lawrence and the rest of the creative team involved in this franchise has done an expert job of leaving us feeling as if anything could truly happen in the final film. That's a rarity for a film franchise where the outcomes seem more or less assured from the start.

The drumbeat towards the 76th, and final, Hunger Games has never been so visceral.
